From the Publisher

Ecologically and agriculturally Oromia is the richest region in the Hornof Africa. Livestock products, coffee, oil seeds, and spices are the center of the economy. Political turmoil in Ethiopia and elsewhere in East Africa has resulted in a large Oromo population dispersed around the world.

This review is from: Oromia: An Introduction to the History of the Oromo People (Paperback)
This short, direct explanation of just what happens to a culture destroyed by competing European colonialisms. High school seniors would benefit from reading and discussing the dynamics of this book. without vituperation, it draws attention to the kind of exploitation which, I think, the average citizen does not suspect continues to exist.
