5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, Sweet, Honest, and Romantic January 14, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition
This Orphan Train story was very good. The idea of the Orphan Trains that went west with so many children during the latter part of the Nineteenth Century have intrigued me for a long time. I met the author, Linda Baten Johnson, here in San Marcos, Texas, my home, in November 2014 at our public library which hosts a large number of local Texas Authors at the event "Texas Authors Day."
I've read several over the years by other authors, so when I had the unique opportunity to meet a Texas author who wrote such stories, I was intrigued. The special treat was to learn Linda is a very friendly and warm person. I've met other authors over the years and did not connect with them or think we had anything in common. Not so with Linda.
This story is Inspirational, while being down to earth and thoughtful. I loved the characters, Violet Browning and Micah Larson.
I recommend "Healing Scars," an Orphan Train Bride series story.

I like to read short books now & then so this fit the bill! The insecurities of the character reflects many of our own just in different forms. I was surprised at the thought this short read brought about in a good way.
