Musically Arresting,

I am a drummer/percussionist and I don't think that I have ever heard such brilliant rhythmical shifts and polyrhythms from any other style of music. This is one of the two most astounding c.d.s that I own. The other recording is Shakti's Natural elements.

Words can not do Ivo Papasov's music justice. It is beautiful, funky, full of rhythmic shifts, full of unison lines played in perfection, full of unbelievable improvisations and it features a band full of amazing musicians who are also as tight as any of James Brown's and Frank Zappa's bands ever were. The real crazy thing about it is,that this is considered wedding music in Bulgaria where they actually dance to Ivo's tunes. Wow! There is nothing that can really prepare you for this one of a kind listening experience. Ivo himself described it best as the band "chasing rabbits" hence the constant shifts in rhythm and speed and melodic keys. You will not be dissappointed if you are musically curious. I just wish more cds from him were available. (I have 5 and they all kick major butt.)
