5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!
I think the Orthaheel Tide flip flops are worth every penny! After just the FIRST day of wearing them, my heel pain (plantar fascitis) was markedly improved. I've been wearing these flip flops every day for about a week now, and they are the only shoes in my closet that don't make my heel hurt by the end of the day. I don't know what I'll do when the cold weather...

2.0 out of 5 stars Comfy BUT......
The shoe itself was very comfortable. My heels had no more pain, under my feet was no more pain and it threw me to the outside which is what I wanted. What I didn't want is for the straps to be so tight. My left foot is a medium width, but because I have a bunion on my right foot and have had ankle surgery I need a wide. I've read many reviews with the same problem...

4.0 out of 5 stars Back Saver!, June 28, 2009
This review is from: Orthaheel Women's Tide Thong Sandals (Apparel)
These flip-flops are like no other! I've been wearing them for the last three days and I am now back pain free! :) They are wonderful for people who have high arches & need the extra support. The first two days my arches hurt from wearing them, but that just means my weight is being distributed over my entire foot. I now call them my back savior. I LOVE THEM!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love them., June 18, 2009

It took several days for me to get used to the high arch. After I did my legs and knees felt so much better. Now I wear them all the time. The only problem I have is that it seems like my heels are much dryer and have even cracked open. I never had that problem before. I love the shoes, though, and I'm thinking about getting another style of Orthaheel to try.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Arch Support, June 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Orthaheel Women's Tide Thong Sandals (Apparel)
This shoe has an excellent arch support. I wear custom orthotics for a heel spur and these are the first sandal shoes that I have ever found with enough arch support for my feet. I have not worn them all day yet so I don't know how long I'll be able to tolerate them. But they are very supportive walking in the house. I wear a size 8 and they fit my foot well.

My only complaint was that I ordered the white and the toe strap is a bright white color compared to the beige/tan foot strap. It ruined the look of the shoe. So if you are considering this color, look at the pictures closely. They should have used a tan fabric and on the shoe box, the photo shows it as being tan. The shoe dealer, which was Red Rock or something like that, charges a whopping 20% restocking fee plus they deduct shipping as well for returns. So, I was looking at paying around $15 or more just to return the shoes, plus my shipping them back as well. This is why when it comes to shoes, I definitely recommend Zappos but they didn't carry this shoe.

I decided the less-expensive route to go was to decorate that white strip of fabic.
I bought a pair of colorful drop earrings on sale, removed the wiring and hot-glued them over the white fabric. Now that sore-thumb white fabric is covered and actually shoes look much more stylish.

I've read many reviews with the same problem that the straps are too tight. I'm very surprised that since a Podiatrist designed these sandals, one would think he would make them in wides and read some reviews of customers and make the straps a little wider.

1.0 out of 5 stars TOO much arch support!, July 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was looking for a shoe with arch support and BOY did I get one! This shoe had so much arch to it that it turned my entire foot in a very uncomfortable position and slid my heel off of the foot bed...my heel was literally hanging off the side of the shoe. I thought perhaps it would just take me a few days to get used to them but it was physically painful to wear them for even 10 minutes at a time. Suffice it to say, I sent them back. I ordered a pair of hipthong sandals from Chaco and they worked much better. Just in case you are wondering, I wear a women's size 8 shoe. I have a medium arch and can wear both B and C width women's shoes. If your foot is similar in size and proportion, you may have the same problem with this shoe that I did. Check out shoes by Chaco or Merrell if you decide to try these and they don't work. Hope this helps!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, wonderful flipflop, May 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got these for my mother (75 yrs old) so that she could have flip flops for summer rather than orthopedic shoes that tie. They worked so well for her that we are having a hard time getting her to wear other shoes. I got myself a pair and I now understand why she won't take them off. If you have problems with your feet or knees, these offer incredible support and correction, along with comfort. I can walk for miles in them. If only they came with beading or rhinestones! I know that they seem expensive, but after two years they are still in great shape.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sandel for flat feet., February 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have very flat foot and have ankle tendonitis but some times I just want a sandel to slip on at the beach or around the yard. These have an very high supportive arch and feel great. Wish they were a little wider though, will try the Wave model the next time as it is unisex and should be wider I would think. Just had to come back and edit now that I have had them a while: Much less pain and swelling in my foot now that I have have in years! Well worth the money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great purchase, September 20, 2009

I purchased these sandals a few weeks ago. They took a little getting used to, but I agree with one of the other reviewers that it is a great alternative to someone who needs orthotics and likes to wear flip flops. I struggled with whether to buy these at their retail price - they do seem a little pricey at $55 for "just" a flip flop - but I feel that you can't spend too much money if it works for your feet, especially because I have feet issues, so in the end I did buy them and LOVE them! They have very limited styles, so I hope the manufacturers will come out with more (fancier) styles. They offer a slipper, so that might be my next orthaheel purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced, June 3, 2009

I just returned mine for three reasons; the first is the bag they came was marked size 7 (what I ordered) but the shoes themselves were clearly marked with a size 6, I ordered a brownish color and got the blue and finally, and the real reason I returned them was, they were simply not worth $55.00, they were alright but maybe worth $19.99, don't waste your money.
Oh yes and the FootSmart customer service people were very nice and helpful and this review is in no way meant to slam the company in general.
