I have no issues with ants either although I do use bait on ant mounds I find near the home.

Anybody attempting to do their own exterminating with only one product is like a plumber trying to do his job with only one tool: a screwdriver.

There are at least a dozen different types of ants in most regions and some require different types of treatments. Many ants march in trails 50 to 60 feet from their mound or bed to get to your sweet spot.

One year, I sprayed ant trails all summer long and couldn't find the bed. That fall, I moved a whiskey barrel planter located 60 feet from the house and discovered a huge bed underneath.

I've been doing my own exterminating for 30 years. It took me 10 years to get it right.

Professional exterminators will tell you that DIY methods are ineffective. That's not true. It can be done. Granted, licensed exterminators have access to certain chemicals that homeowners do not. Even so, it is possible with the available chemicals if applied correctly.

The most common way to see ant die immediately is to stomp it or spray it with poison. While you're stomping or searching for a can of spray, the queen has laid a dozen more eggs.

We live on a heavily-wood hilltop in the middle of 10 acres surrounded by pastures where fire ants and many other kinds of ants thrive. There are many kinds of invading ants and they have different diets, characteristics and preferred environments.

Save yourself a bundle of money. Over the past 30 years, I've saved $21,000.00 based on a savings of $700.00 a year less than the professional companies charge my friends and relatives for a termite contract.

In the foundation holes of my house, I use plain boric acid powder available at most dollar stores. The 2-pound squeeze bottle is what I use. It's cost about $4.00. It is cheap and effective.

Makes ten gallons. Seems to be the most lethal and effective pesticide I've ever used. I actually treated a massive stump infested with termites with this and they disappeared...at least for now. Best for a home barrier.

I have been using this product for at least 5 years now. I mix stronger than directions and spray all around foundation and eves. I do not use indoors or near garden. I live in a very rural area where black widows and many other evil spiders call home. I never see them anywhere I treat. I even treat our sheds and never find them in any outbuildings either. When I do find them, they are already in heaven. I have no issues with ants either although I do use bait on ant mounds I find near the home.

This stuff works ! They stop selling this stuff at the big box stores for some reason or other. I guess because this stuff is too good and guaranteed for five years per application. Ortho and many other soft production industries now days has figured out that they can't make any money providing quality items any more. Now days we PAY MORE for less volume, cheaper ingredients and more plastic, thus poor quality items that last 30 to 90 days or less like the stuff Ortho manufactures now and sells at Lowes.

Those nasty little buggers are eating our wood trim on the house. I cannot believe they don't even flinch with a direct hit and Wasp & Hornet spray. This is good stuff. Second year I used it to spray up into their holes. Doesn't kill on contact, soaks into the wood, and kills them when they eat wood treated with it.

I have tried numerous products, this works. It does not last for 5 years tho! As much as I refrain from the use of chemicals it boils down to the lesser of two evils. I live in a humid climate here there are high population of bugs. Mother nature does not always keep the balance in tact or it could be I just sometimes prefer to "live alone"! I have tried natural remedies but in the end...well I use this stuff.
