Ortho Options Gynol II Contraceptive Jelly is clear, unscented, water-soluble, and greaseless. It is mildly lubricating, non-staining and it contains Nonoxynol-9, which provides effective protection when used with a diaphragm. It is designed specifically for use with a diaphragm, since a diaphragm alone is not effective protection against pregnancy. The diaphragm and Ortho Options Gynol II Contraceptive Jelly are effective up to six hours. An additional application is necessary if repeated intercourse takes place or if intercourse occurs more than six hours after insertion. For best protection against pregnancy, follow the enclosed instruction circular exactly.

I use this product with my diaphragm regularly. It is a great alternative to getting an IUD inserted. You must make sure your diaphragm fits appropriately and reapply jelly with each encounter and leave diaphragm in place 6hours after intercourse, It is the best decision I have made with regard to birth control- no hormones, no long term effects, and lubricant, which we use anyway.

I really have been using this product (or the GYNOL 11 extra) for almost 5 years. I use it with a diaphragm. We have not been pregnant yet, which is my goal, so I am very pleased and highly recommend the product. It has no hormones and no odor.
