Orthodox Prayers of Old England is a thorough compilation of liturgical and devotional material from many sources rendered (usually from the Latin) into Traditional (Prayer Book Style) English. Full cycle of services for Sundays, including Matins/Lauds, Terce, Mass from the Sarum Use, Sext; Vespers (ordinary parts) for every day of the week as well as personal/family devotions for the morning and evening. Liturgical rites of baptism, chrismation, anointing of the sick, marriage, burial, confession (with an excellent examination of conscience) all in accordance with pre-schism Western Rite Orthodox praxis, with ample instructional material makes this an excellent text for priests as well as lay people. Blessed for use by Metropolitan Hilarion of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, this volume has canonical ecclesiastical approbation.
Because this book is of a scholarly character, it is often misunderstood and unfairly criticized by self appointed liturgical experts as being "Byzantinized or Russified" when it clearly expresses the truth that the ancient church of the west was united in the essentials with that of the east.

This thing is really a mess. The compiler has taken a bunch of so-called "Old English" prayers and stuck them into a modern Byzantine/Russian framework and called it "pre-1054." But most of this pre-1054 is simply a personal, mythological fantasy. He even insinuates the use of a modern Byzantine style ikonostasis! Waste of money.
