My 80 pound, mixed breed, elderly dog has progressive arthritis. Normally he sleeps in my bed but he is getting too old to jump up and down. I have a cold, hard floor in the bedroom so I wanted something thick and comfortable for him.
This bed is made of what seems to be memory foam scraps. It's not a solid piece. It arrived in a vacuum-sealed bag while the denim cover was packed separately. The bed is simply a sack filled with the scraps and at first appeared to be round like a bean bag. I lay down on it to flatten it out and it became more bed like. Both covers seem a little thin and flimsy; the sack is purportedly water proof but I put a rubber sheet on the bed (my dog has epilepsy and occasionally loses bladder control) just in case. I also covered it with a fleece blanket because it's a pain to get the denim cover on and off to wash -- the blanket it easier.
The bed is comfortable and thick. You can't feel the hard floor at all. Tonight my dog didn't even make an attempt to climb into my bed. He simply curled up on his new bed and went right to sleep!
This bed is pretty expensive for the materials, but plush and comfortable, and worth it for my old guy.

I have two great danes under a year old. We have gone through many dog beds in the short time we have had them, and none of the beds have been as good as this one. We bought the XXL size for our 115 lb puppy that is going on 150 lbs; however, as soon as my smaller dane saw this bed, he immediately ditched his own and staked out the new one for himself. We had to force him to leave it in order to allow our larger dane to lay on it. The bed is just big enough for the dane we bought it for, and since he is still growing, we are going to buy the next size up for him.
Most of the other beds we have gotten have been filled with cotton, and my boys have either flattened them out within the first day and/or ripped it to shreds within the first week. This bed has a durable double layer that is tough enough to withstand thick claws and foam center that does not flatten out under heavy pups.
I was skeptical at first when I saw the size of the package, but as soon as I opened it, I saw that the pillow was vaccume sealed. The bed is a good size for dogs around 100 lbs, but I'd get the next size up for dogs upwards of 130 lbs. The beds are a bit pricy compared to their cotton counterparts, but the price is well worth it if you want a bed that lasts. We have spent well over what we paid for this bed on beds that just couldn't take our crazy duo, and I wish now that we had just sucked it up and paid more at the beginning.

My dog is a 120 lb. monster of love. She needed a huge bed she could stretch out on that would protect her aging bones from the cold hard tile floor. This bed is super plush, yet supportive, my dog is very happy. You have to reach in and fluff up the foam when you get it because it's vaccuum sealed and the foam bits clump together quite solidly. I recomend short sleeves as the foam sticks to just about everything and keep a vaccuum handy for cleaning up the inevitable spillage. Once you zip it back up though your good to go, and your dog will thank you.
