Tom Holm is a professor of American Indian Studies at the University of Arizona. He is the author of The Great Confusion in Indian Affairs: Native Americans and Whites in the Progressive Era, and Strong Hearts, Wounded Souls: Native American Veterans of the Vietnam War.

I picked this book up on a whim as I liked the premise of the novel. I wasn't disappointed; if you like Hillerman's novels you will positively love this book, written by a native american bringing his unique perspective. The story is well constructed and enjoyable. I hope the author comes out with a follow-up to this very entertaining debut.
