It has a really nice lemon smell.

Here's the method that works best for me: Apply a small amount into your hand and rub your palms together, so that the powder is all over your hands.

I seriously use this product every other day, whenever I don't wash my hair.

I have jet black hair and this product works fabulously! I have tried baby powder and cornstarch and they both left a terrible white residue/sheen and sometimes clumped up, looking like dandruff. I've even tried Bumble & Bumble's dry shampoo spray for black hair, and that was disgusting. If I touched my hair it would make my fingers black, and it left a gray haze on all my bathroom walls.

The other reviewers who think baby powder works just the same must have blonde hair, because it absolutely does not work the same on dark hair. Oscar Blandi's dry shampoo has a pleasant scent and doesn't leave a noticeable residue. Since the powder is white, I was suprised at how easily it disappeared into my black hair. It gave my roots body and absorbed all the oil. I applied it by rubbing the powder between my palms, then combed through my roots with my fingers/palms. This method prevents the product from clumping. I love this product and highly recommend it, especially for brunettes!

I have been looking for a basic, but great product to use in between shampoos or for those 'off-days' when I couldn't take the time to wash and style my hair. I work it through to my scalp, pull my hair back, and shower. It keeps my roots from getting that 'oily-look'.

Important: use the Dry Shampoo, NOT the Dry Shampoo Spray. Like other dry shampoo sprays I have tried, the nozzle gets clogged up too often and no matter how many times I soak the nozzle in warm water (not too mention piercing the hole in the nozzle with a pin), it still becomes more of a hassle than it should. As a result, you get less product. Stick with the regular Dry Shampoo.

I have super greasy hair. Super greasy. Like greasy in 12 hours - when I was younger, I'd often wash my hair twice per day. As I got older, I learned that frequent washings create more oil so I tried wearing a hat every other day while I tried to trick my body into producing less oil. Um, it didn't work.

I also have DARK black hair - if there's such a thing - and I don't have an issue with powder residue. I think they key is to apply the powder directly onto your scalp and then rub.

This product has been pretty miraculous for me. It seriously absorbs all the oil and makes my hair look like it's just been washed. It's expensive, for sure, but worth it. I don't apply too much, I rub it in with my fingertips and then I brush with a boar bristle brush.

Other reviewers complained about the smell - it IS indeed strong but not at all unpleasant. I kind of liked it!

I think I'm going to order another bottle right now!!

I got this version of Dry Shampoo over the spray can version because the spray can had a of of reviews that complained of clogging. I generally wash my hair every other day and on my off days (especially when it is so hot) I use baby powder to soak up the oils. I tried this thinking it would be a step up & I'm still not sure it's better than my Johnson & Johnson baby powder. The feel of it is a bit more like talc (a bit rougher I guess is the way to explain it), it definitely is not as smooth feeling a baby powder.

PROS:
- Smells nice (I like citrus-y scents)
- It has a nice nozzle so you can control more of where the powder goes
- It does it's job and nicely soaks up all oils

CONS:
- I'm blonde, and this leaves my hair dull and dusty looking. I could only imagine what it would look like in hair even a touch darker than mine.
- I recall someone's review saying "don't touch your hair because it will leave a cloud of dust"- boy is that ever true. I even tried putting it on the night before to give any excess powder time to fall off, no such luck.
- Did I mention how dusty it is? It gets underneath my nails and irks me all day long...

So, compared to the price of baby powder I would have to say that it's just not worth it. I was hoping it would look a lot nicer than it does. However, it definitely smells cleaner and does its job.

I am in the midst of a lifetime pursuit of the perfect dry shampoo and encountered this one along the way. Unlike many other reviewers, I adore the smell. To me it's not at all chemical smelling; it has a light lemon scent that reminds me of lemon curd. The only downside to the scent is that it makes me want scones.

It works great as a dry shampoo -- when I use it, it soaks up the oils in my hair really well and usually lasts all day. However, I've come to expect more from a dry shampoo, since so many are great at adding volume when applied to the roots of the hair. The Oscar Blandi sadly didn't accomplish this at all. I just use it on my bangs since I don't really want a lot of volume there anyway.

The other downside is the applicator -- I feel like it would be better in a shaker-type bottle than a squirt-type bottle. It comes out in bursts and often I end up with a VERY white spot on my head that needs a few minutes of combing to go away. I feel like this could be a real problem for someone with darker hair.

If this wasn't so expensive, I'd probably continue to buy it since it works so great on my bangs (which is where oil usually builds up the most anyway). Guess instead I'll just continue on my quest for the perfect dry shampoo.
