This is a great 3/4 guitar for the money.
I was looking for a travel size guitar to kick around with and this little guitar was just what I was looking for.
I'm in no way an expert but the sound is just incredible and the guitar itself is stunning to look at. I have shopped for many 3/4 size guitars and this one is definitely the one you want to buy.
The neck is tapered near the top and is very similar to my ovation just smaller. Kids, students and anyone with small hands would do well with this instrument.
The action was perfect right out of the box and just in case, it does have an adjustable truss rod. My guitar teacher has always said this is a key feature for any acoustic guitar. (make sure you let a professional adjust it if you need it down the road)
I cant imagine anyone being disappointed with this guitar and if you read a bit about the history of Oscar Schmidt I think you will be impressed.
Treat yourself- buy this guitar!
The seller also got this out fast and hassel free!

Got this guitar for my 10 yr son for a guitar camp over the summer. Did not know anything about guitars but did a bit of internet research before buying this one. Showed up at camp and instructor said it was a really nice guitar that he should be able to use for years. So pleased with purchase. Did also end up buying a hard case for it at her recommendation to protect it.

I own nine full size guitars and I have very small hands (my middle finger is right at three inches and my pinky is 1 1/2 inches), so I wanted to see if a short scale guitar would be more comfortable to play. I usually detune to D and capo at the second fret to make my guitars more comfortable. I was looking at the Taylor GS Mini, which also has a shorter scale, but wanted to make sure I'd like the short scale neck before I dropped $500 on the it. The Oscar Schmidt was a great opportunity to do that without shelling out $200+ on a decent short scale guitar.

In the last 4 or 5 months I've played 20 to 25 short scale and travel guitars, including the GS Mini, the Baby Taylor, the Little Martin and Martin travel guitar, and many others. The GS mini is, without a doubt, the best. It has the bass output and the projection of a full sized guitar. But it's $500. Believe or not, if I were ranking for tone, projection, and playability, this little cheap Oscar Schmidt would come in second of all the guitars I've played. It doesn't have that small, plastic-like tone that most of the other travel and short scale guitars have, nor do you lose all your bass. It does sound smaller than a full-sized guitar, of course. But the tones are very even across the bass, mids, and highs. The top of the neck tapers down to about an inch and a half, which is actually a little too small for me -- my fingers sometimes deaden the neighboring strings. But I still love playing this guitar. It's comfortable, it sounds awesome for its size, and it's well priced.

First let me say,I have been a "Picker" for 46 years. I owen Guitars that cost me over $5,000. When the world today forced me to look at Guitars "should I say "From overseas". I was looking for craftsmanship, solid wood, true sound etc ... that a Old "Picker", (Real Guitar folks do not "play", they "Pick") that had bought oversea's made guitars, was not happy with, that I give away, and some we threw in the trash.

Being a man with smaller hands, I started looking at 3/4 size. I have some that cost me a great deal of money to get.

I looked at the Oscar Schmidt OG1FYS 3/4 size Dreadnought, by Washburn in/on their web site, due to seeing it on Amazon. I said "Oh Hell it looks good, it does not cost me a 5 to 6 digit price to try. Doubtful, I ordered it.It came, I open the box, I could not believe what I saw.

Craftmanship I will give it 4 3/4 stars, this includes how it was built, the finish, the features, what it was made of(wood).

Tuned it up, and to my surprise, it has a better sound, than my $6,000, 3/4 size Custom made Martain or My Custom made Taylor, a more even sound, and a lifetime warranty.

How much do I like it ? Good enought to want to buy it's 3 other in that size. Which I will do So.

Washburn's economy line by OS has suprisingly good build quality. This guitar is a good bet for smaller players. Straight out of the box it has good action, killer finish, high quality tuners and nice detail work. This is better than eny sub $100 guitar i have bought. Its a 3/4 size neck is too small for grown ups, thats obvious.

I would have given this a 5 Star had the color looked exactly like the picture.

The guitar I received was a little more bright yellow than the one pictured, I like the darker fade look better, but it is still a great looking guitar and conversation piece for the awesome figured maple top. It is a real guitar, NOT a toy!

The sound is quite impressive, the original strings sounded great and then I changed them to lighter strings wich seemed to be a little tinny (bright) sounding for me. I found some heavy Slinky's and it sounds really good again.

You really can't be disappointed, especially at $100.

I purchased from Amazon directly and I have yet to be disappointed by the speed of shipping, they are the fasted on the planet.
