Excellent value, beautiful fit and finish,

I bought one of these on eBay when they first came out because it reminded me of one I borrowed from a friend of mine 25 years ago. I would have to say that it's really beautiful, with a high-gloss finish and gorgeous woodgrain on the back and sides. The tuners work beautifully and hold well. The intonation and action was excellent on mine, but I've heard that some have had to lower the action on theirs. I thought that the thick wood and heavy finish would dampen the sound, but I haven't found that to be the case. It has a brighter sound than my 1951 Harmony baritone, more like a guitar than a ukulele. It's not a Kamaka or Martin, of course, but it's a far cry from one of those $29.00 models.

I've owned this uke for about two years now. This ukulele is terrific for the price. Rest assured, if your having problems getting it to sound right, it's you. Much, much, much better than the $20-30 models. If you want something quality to play with without paying too much, this is for you.

I've played many ukes over the years and this one is a stand out. Fret finish is always the fist thing I check on a new instrument and this one passes with flying colors. The Mother of pearl binding work is a nice touch and the shaping of the bridge and the headstock really dress up this little beauty. The sound is wonderful and sweet and it's such a joy to play I have to fight my wife and kids for a chance to practice. Maybe I should have purchased two. I have no problem recommending this to anyone who is looking for a well made, very playable instrument. There are a lot of cheaper options but quality and price seem to find a great balance in this one. |
