I'm a long time guitar player and since I saw the movie 'The Concert for George' in which Joe Brown played the
uke and sang 'I'll see you in my Dreams', my curiosity piqued. Then I saw McCartney sing Something playing the
uke.. then 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'.... thought I heard it in a Jason Mraz song... So I purchased this baritone
which has the same tuning as the standard guitar minus the 5th and 6th string, so the chording is the same. This
is a quality instrument with a nice tone. After a couple tunings, giving the strings time to adjust, it stays in
tune. Kudos to the music store in Austin Texas that sold it to me! Instead of driving all over Houston, I ordered
it on the weekend and had it on Monday. I'll probably get a tenor in the future and take the time to learn ukulele
chords, 'cause it's a fun little instrument and it's cool taking the songs I know and playing them on a uke!
A highly recommended instrument. [Austin Bazaar is the company that sold it to me, btw.]

The OU52 is a good starter baritone ukulele and will allow a new player a chance to get a feel for the instrument without spending a lot more money for an expensive one.

I changed the strings to a better quality Aquila brand which improved the overall sound of the instrument. Although the factory installed tuners are OK, I also upgraded the tuners to a set of enclosed geared tuners which helps keep the strings in tune easier and longer.

The OU52 makes for a good "pub beater', travel or camping ukulele where one might be concerned about possible damage which is why I purchased the OU52. Oscar Schmidt by Washburn makes high level ukuleles as well but the laminated body OU52 fit my needs for a "pub beater" and buck for buck you can't beat it.
