I bought this from total music (seller) recently, and it just deserves reviewing. Shipped fast and perfect ala fed ex, and free. Fed ex is best guitar shipper, wrapped double boxed and immaculate. I have a couple few lp copies usually lefty is a few bucks more, not here... Also goldtop usually a few too, not here...
This is a china made, but quality is excellent.
O.S. has a good rep overall they got this right as far as I'm concerned. Nice finish, front bound body, shows rich brown mahogany from back, cream bound including neck and headstock, set neck I think maple, real nice radius, bit slim tapered compared to others, real good fast feeling. Nice rosewood board with pearloid, good frets smooth out of box. This guitar is a little lighter overall than others I've had, which I like too. The hardware is not bad, but it's basic, some stuff always ends up upgrading on lp types anyhow as its easy to work on. Sorry no Grover tuners, the 3 way has hex nut instead of knurled kind, standard TOM bridge, think its polymer string nut, no tag saying tusq or whatnot... But it plays fine just minor action adjusting, bridge pickup needed lowering very minor stuff, some preference stuff anyhow.
Pickups are standard paf style ok but there again could be upgraded easy based on preferences. Strung factory d'addario, arrived tuned down, another quality touch no popped strings.
Overall I love the guitar, the body/neck are dead on, headstock looks sharp. I will likely upgrade some parts but a little at a time, in the end it'll be a force to be reckoned! In the mean time it's still a great player overall good deal for $. Also a note the cavity covers in back are cream but not smooth? Kinda of pebble finish not that anyone cares but slightly noticeable if you like them smooth as the high gloss back might need to swap, all others appointments are smooth cream and plastic sealed.
