No matter who I called, I could not confirm that this case would fit my daughter's new Kala Solid Acacia Concert Ukulele but took the plunge and bought it hoping that most ukulele's are standard size. This case fits it perfectly! It is very well built and you can tell someone put their heart into the design.

The padding holds the Ukelele snug and holds it from moving around; there is no rattling up and down or side to side. Inside has one pocket to hold little items like a pitch pipe. The buckles are large and sturdy, the hinges at the bottom edge double as metal feet. If you lay the case down, there are three metal buttons on the back that hold the case above the ground. The case opens and closes precisely so the buckles align when you close the case without fiddling with them. The handle is heavily padded and it is positioned so that the instrument is is held up at a slight angle and feels perfectly balanced in your hands.

By the way, this case is brown, not black as it appears in the picture. It looks beautiful with the dark wood of the ukulele. My daughter went crazy because it was so cute and her uke fit so perfectly.

For those of you considering using this with other concert ukes, the dimensions of our uke are:

8 1/4" at the widest part of the body
2 7/8" thick at the bottom
24" long (The case will fit up to 26" - 26" will be a tight fit and the top would have to be rounded to fit)

This is a great deal, you will be very happy!

There comes a point in your ukulele playing career when you'll decide it's time to bring your joyously uptempo act out of the home and into the world. However, there are dangers that lurk out there such as walls, baggage carriers, and friends with hammers that can very quickly turn your instrument of choice into a heap of wood and string.

And like any hockey player or woeful parent-to-be will tell you, protection is of utmost importance.

**ENOUGH CUTE BANTER, HOW IS IT:**

Step in one of the very few vinyl hard-shell case I could find here on Amazon, the Oscar Schmidt UC3 Concert Uke Case (or "the Schmidts" as I affectionately call it). The construction quality is nearly identical to what you'd find on a hard-shell case for a guitar, with a solid brownish vinyl exterior and metal buckles. Inside, the case is roomy but padded well enough to protect pretty much any Concert sized Uke. I myself own a Lanikai traditional shaped uke and a Pineapple-shaped Flea Uke and both fit surprisingly well. There's a small box under the neck for your tuner and string needs, as you'd probably find on any other case.

I could definitely see this case being checked for plane trips, but then again, it's so small I don't know why it couldn't just be carry-on. It's rugged and light, although not so durable that I would recommend people use it as a cricket bat.

**OVERALL**

Ultimately I decided of the two evils, I'd rather be mistaken for lugging a midget guitar with the Schmidts than be mistaken for yet another traveling violinist (other cases won't have the curves, as you've probably seen). It'll fit most, if not all, CONCERT Ukes snugly and give you plenty of protection for any trips you might be planning. Plus, you'll look cool.

This ukulele case, made in Indonesia, is really, really nice. I have one for my Oscar Schmidt OU5 Concert Koa Ukulele. The fit for that instrument is perfect, although I can't vouch for the fit with other concert ukuleles.

The padding is very thick, very plush and very snug. The case is very hard. One of the clasps on the case doesn't close as tightly as I might ideally like -- that is the only problem, but it is one that I can live with.

This case is good enough and strong enough that I would not be very concerned even checking it onto a flight as luggage if I really had to. Of course, I'm not going to do that. But if push came to shove, I'd be able to spend the flight in quiet confidence that nothing terrible would happen to my uke.

Very highly recommended, at least for the OU5! If you have another type of uke, you might want to get your hands on one of these cases somewhere before buying to see if your instrument fits.

After reading all the reviews about this uke case, I decided to buy one for my ukulele. I completely agree with the "5 star" recent reviews. When my uke case arrived, I made all my inspection to see if it is broken or defective. UNFORTUNATELY, they gave me a defective uke case. The two metal rivets from both hinges came off so I returned this item the following day. What a waste of my time!

After returning the defective ukulele hard case: The case was in perfect condition. Returning the ukulele case was easy and convenient.

I'm reading it three stars because I have mixed emotions about it. On the upside it's a great that fits the ukulele perfectly. The reason why I rated it so low is because some of the screws in the case are missing some of the bolts don't have covers, and the lock doesn't work. Not only does the lock not work it doesn't close all the way and the keys just spin.
