4.0 out of 5 stars Playing with words and music, ain't it funny Mister Alain?
Alain Bashung has always been an anticonformist artist. He plays with words and music in brilliant ways. Very poetic but also a little bit disappointed. He paints humans with humour, tenderness and sometimes cruelty but always with a good sens of observation. Osez Alain Bashung!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not his best
While certainly not his best, this one contains a few nice songs. As usual the lyrics are great but the music has suffered somewhat.

5.0 out of 5 stars May be my favorite from Bashung, July 27, 2011

I've been listening to this CD for quite some time and recently replaced my first copy of this great album. To my ears, "Osez Joséphine" and "Fantaisie Militaire" stand as Bashung's best work. Even better are his live albums such as "Confessions Publiques" and "Tournee des Grands Espaces," both double-disc albums. Another, more recent live set also deserves a recommendation: "Dimanches a L'elysee." Bashung seems to give a bit more when on stage. When he tours he has a much better band than he does in the studio...or perhaps they just play better on stage. Finally, if you know you love this guy and want it all, try to get your hands on "A perte de vue," a comprehensive box set that includes pretty much everything he Alain Bashung ever recorded.

A friend from France gave me the CD and I am hooked! Actually I am on line with Amazon right now ordering a copy for my mom! I particularly love his Elvis/Dylan style with a great fast beat!
