5.0 out of 5 stars To be 14 again!
Remembering the Osmonds from my teenage years, I was thrilled to find this DVD since it is a tape from a 1972 TV performance. This brought back all my fond memories of these guys at their prime and the height of my teenage obsession. The production values aren't great (remember - this IS a 1970's TV show!), but it was so much fun seeing everyone's 'baby faces' and...

3.0 out of 5 stars just a rerelease
My husband offered to get this dvd for me and I jumped at it. Sadly, I already have it.

Anyone who has already purchased the Osmonds Musikladen DVD should save their money and skip this one. It's just a rerelease. If you've never purchased the Musikladen DVD - buy this one - it's cheaper!

As much as I love the Osmonds, I'm not thrilled with this...

Remembering the Osmonds from my teenage years, I was thrilled to find this DVD since it is a tape from a 1972 TV performance. This brought back all my fond memories of these guys at their prime and the height of my teenage obsession. The production values aren't great (remember - this IS a 1970's TV show!), but it was so much fun seeing everyone's 'baby faces' and hearing so many of my favorites.

The biggest selling point was the capture of the "Tambourine/Dance to the Music" medley - something I've only had on an aging audio tape recorded from a TV appearance. I knew these guys were talented, but after all the media jokes, living through the "D&M" years, this was a welcome reminder of just how special they were.

I highly recommend this to any 70's era Osmond fan!

This is a must for all Osmond Fans everywhere!! It brought back so many memories from when I was a teenager. I was in love with Donny, but his whole family is just awesome!!! So, if you are a die hard Osmond fan, you will surely want this DVD in your collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Still Groovy, January 10, 2008
This review is from: The Osmonds: Live (DVD)
This DVD was pretty good. The only problem was there was no Jimmy Osmond performing even though he was featured on the cover and mentioned on the back cover.

The osmonds were performing for a studio audience and they were pretty tame except for one time when some girls ran up on stage. All and all the Osmonds still rock!

This brings back old memories. The video is not the best quality, but considering what was available at that time, it's good. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Missing 17 minutes!, June 21, 2010
By
This review is from: The Osmonds: Live (DVD)
After reading the reviews from most of the 2 stars, I have to agree with what they've said. My biggest disapointment is the runtime. On the back cover it says approximately 47 minutes. This dvd times out at 30 minutes, 34 seconds. With no bonus footage or extras, I wonder where the other 17 minutes are? The last song, Dance To The Music, is about 40 seconds long, if that. Even though the cover shows him and during the dvd a credit is given to him as singing, there's no Jimmy.

The video is ok but the sound mix is horrible. It sounds like they're in a box. The vocals are good but there is way too much bass. This was filmed in a small television studio and with all of the backing musicians, the somewhat small stage is crowded. At the end, the red felt that's covering the stage comes loose causing some of the Osmonds to somewhat lose their footing. With this being filmed at what I consider just slightly beyond the peak of their career, I find the reaction of the subdued audience somewhat puzzling but understandable. The girls in the crowd appear to be Donny's age, and when he goes out and sings to them, kissing two of them, there's no reaction. Maybe they were expecting to see the Osmonds of two years earlier, the time which I consider them just starting to hit their peak. I would've preferred a dvd of that time period compared to this.

At this point in their career, this would've been much better if just the brothers were playing the instruments and being more like a band instead of a singing group, with maybe one or two backing musicians, because it's obvious they can't dance. The semi funky chicken moves and Jay's wild but sad attempt at doing some kind of I guess you could call them "moves" during Crazy Horses were lame. Even Donny's wild romp after kissing the two girls was bad. The brothers were too stiff and lacked the rythum (soul) it takes to really move. This dvd isn't what I expected.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed, November 22, 2008
This review is from: The Osmonds: Live (DVD)
I was so disappointed in this dvd, It wasn't like a real concert. I went to see them in Jacksonville, Fl,and it was alot better even with all the screaming fans. The sound on this dvd was horrible. It sounded like they were suffering from a cold.

2.0 out of 5 stars Different title, but same DVD, May 17, 2008

This review is from: The Osmonds: Live (DVD)
I bought another DVD of the same concert. Now I have two identical DVDs. This is very deceptive. It is not right to sell a similar product with different titles. This DVD has Jimmy on the cover, but he was not eve in the concert. I felt cheated. And I bought almost every of their DVDs.
