It was absolutely perfect for my bicycle trip.

It fit perfectly on the "puddle jumper" aircraft that have limited overhead space, jammed with all that stuff and straps sinched down no too tight!

The trampoline back provides great ventilation while wearing the pack.

Amazing pack. Good storage options internal and external. This provides great flexibility to wherever you may wander. Pack is extremely stable once you tighten up straps. Has many bells and whistles I didn't even know about. A whistle built in to the chest harness buckle/clip. Walking stick, or trek pole holder on lower left, then another holder to left and lower so you can keep your gear out of your own way when not needed. Great pack for hydration needs. I used an older other brand hydration bladder, and had ice cold water for myself and others all day. The mesh back really keeps you cooler since there is good air-flow/space between yourself and the pack. Very light pack. Superb materials. Very thoughtfully designed pack. I now have two Osprey packs, and plan to get more to replace briefcases, gym bags, camera bags, etc. Go ahead and be adventurous.

I never write customer reviews, but this is the exception. I recently returned from a 6-day bicycle trip to Tuscany (rode from Florence to Siena; stopping along the way in Castellina, Radda and Greve in Chianti and San Gimignano) and since I didn't want to hire a firm to move my baggage, I looked for a suitable backpack. After exploring disappointing options from Ortlieb and a few others, I came across the Osprey Stratos 26 Backpack. By far, this is the *best* purchase I've made in recent memory! It was absolutely perfect for my bicycle trip. I was on a roadbike and after the first day, I never felt that I was wearing this pack. It molded perfectly to my back and it easily held 4 days of light clothing and a pair of shoes. Even tacking the numerous 10km climbs in Tuscany, the pack would remain snug on my back, never shifting and there wasn't anything "sticking" out into the wind. Moreover, on the last day of the ride, it rained in biblical proportions and with the integrated raincover, everything inside the pack was dry - including my iPad. If you're looking for an excellent pack (good for bicycling and hiking), this is the one you want to buy; seriously.

I love my pack. I use it bike riding to work and day hiking. I've loaded it with up to 4 liters of water and done everything from all night hikes to short hikes with the kids. I used it recently to summit Mt. Whitney and also took it up Half Dome and clouds rest. It's light and comfortable, and I love the ventilation. My camera fits nicely in the hip pocket. I have both a 2.0 liter and 3.0 liter osprey bladder and love them both. The magnet to hold the bite valve is a fantastic feature and the integrated whistle is great too. I've used the pack rain cover in 3 thunderstorms and it worked perfectly and kept my gear dry. The downside is that it is so comfortable I almost never take it off and have to force myself to occasionally stop and take breaks. (often just leaving the pack on) My only regret is not buying this pack sooner.

I'm 44 and have been using backpacks every day since I was a child. The external frame and many adjustable straps on this pack makes it perfect for distributing weight correctly across the back.

I purchased this with the intention of using it to commute to work every day by running about 5 miles. It was worked out wonderfully. I can fit my work laptop (a large one), a change of clothes, my lunch and a light jacket in it.

My only complaint is with a design issue near the bottom. If the pack is full, the fabric at the bottom rubs against the hard extrernal frame bar at the bottom of the pack, causing a hole in the fabric. It took about 8 months of daily use for a dime-sized hole to appear. I've mitigated the issue with duct tape (the perfect tool!) for the time being.

larger than it looks!! only down side to the frame is the slight bend in the center of the pack which greatly reduces space for larger items. (like boxes of food if using for grocery shopping) although it is strong enough to hold over fifty pounds inside and attatched biking through the city.

Amazing PACK! First trip with it was domestic: Fit 2x as much stuff for a Valentines trip earlier this year for and extended weekend in a cold climate! Rolled, stacked, shoved, winter clothes around a set of sneakers, a mountainsmith DSLR Cube, packed with photo gear towards the top, a tablet in the bladders sleave and slid a fleece through the frame and the mesh and still had compartments left to stuff toletries and other travel odds and ends. It fit perfectly on the "puddle jumper" aircraft that have limited overhead space, jammed with all that stuff and straps sinched down no too tight! I can only imagine what it can carry on the trail (so long as your not looking to do extended mountain climbing). I take this on the sailboat and it's fast to grab all my gear at once (cloths, sunscreen, toilettries, chargers, lines and tools) and strap it on running from the car to the boat tugging a cooler and fishing gear plus a towel bag, without worryting about tool bag and line bags flying off my shoulders when picking up all the other boat gear. Rugged yet well taken care of! The Orange / Grey will also match my Ski gear colors come this season for back country hauling!

This is a great backpack. I have used it daily to run home from work. It is snug and keeps contents from bouncing around while I run. It resizes easily to carry enough for day trips or for just a change of clothing coming home from work. Mesh keeps pack off my back so pack and contents don't get sweaty. I also like the handy rain cover. My only complaint, as other reviewers have noted, is that the straps are way too long and need to be tied off before running. Probably will cut them down.
