This pack is so awesome!! I decided to get measured for a pack before I bought one, and am so glad that I did. This pack fit like a glove the first time I put it on and I was able to wear it all day with no problems. It is very comfortable, has lots of padding and I did not experience any back or shoulder pain. I like the venting system against my back as it kept me cool all day long in warm weather. I actually didn't even notice I was sweating until I took the pack off! It doesn't have mesh anywhere on the outside and since I hike in terrain that often has brush and trees, this keeps my pack from getting snagged and ruined as I am wearing it. It has plenty of room for all my gear, and even has room to spare. It does have a lot of straps, but I like this fact because it allows me to adjust around my gear, keeping it secure enough that it doesn't move around inside while I am on the move. The only thing I would like to see on this is perhaps a small pocket on the hip belt for things such as my chapstick, power bar, or travel-sized sunscreen. Otherwise this pack is perfect for a day hike or multiple days.

I love this pack, it has a great design, just enough pockets and really convenient straps. I fit everything I need in there and attach anything from my snowshoes to may sandals on the outside without using additional rope or fasteners. I like this better than the Osprey packs that pull away from your back as this one keeps the weight closer to your back, thus you can carry more without wanting to tip over. Also, the isoform hip belt is super comfortable.

I LOVE my Ariel pack and I literally call it my first born son. We have traveled the world together from The foothills of the rocky mountains to kiwi territory in New Zealand to the rugged landscape of Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia. The Ariel pack is light, breathable, and very spacious. I work as a backpacking guide in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and can fit everything I need in here (tent, stove, gas, sleeping pad, extra layers, food, etc) for a week or more (depending on climate and clothes). The weight distribution is excellent, the durability is excellent, and the pack overall is excellent! I would recommend this pack to anyone from beginner to professional. What's more is the All-Mighty Guarantee that allows you to use this pack for years and not have to worry about rips, tears, bear damage (true story), etc. It's worth every penny and then some.

While researching possible 55-65L packs to buy, I wanted a few essential things:
1) To know for sure that the frame would fit my small back [17"]. It didn't occur to me how important this was until I tried on a pack in a store and experienced how the right size should feel.
2) To buy from a trusted brand and get a lifetime warranty. I figured it'd be better to invest in a quality pack the first time than to buy a cheap one and make the switch later, after some hardships.
3) To spend less than $150.
The Ariel 65 obviously met the 1st requirement, since it comes in four different sized frames (I went with the XS).
It passed the 2nd with flying colors, since Osprey packs are insured with the 'All Mighty Guarantee'; if your pack is damaged for any reason, they'll repair or replace it for free!
The 3rd was not met, and I even snagged mine at an absolute steal: $165. But it was well worth it because of the warranty. The $165 (or whatever you pay) is an investment that will eventually pay itself off.
As for how it fits...
The hip pads are able to mold to you if they're heated, and they can be cinched down snugly. There isn't a good way to keep the spare straps from flopping around, which is mildly annoying but not a big deal. The mesh back area is extremely breathable and successfully kept me from getting overly sweaty in that area. The top compartment (which has one roomy area, nothing special) can be pulled toward your neck our pushed back with its own set of straps. There should be plenty of room for your sleeping bag in it's compartment, an if not the separating fabric can be removed so that the main compartment is enlarged. You can reach it through the top, which must be cinched down, the front via zipper and the bottom (sleeping bag compartment) via zipper.

I purchased the Ariel 65 from HumbleOutdoors for about $240, it was shipped free.

My daughter loves her Ariel pack. She traveled to the French Alps last summer, and lived out of this pack for seven weeks. The Ariel 65 pack is very spacious, light, breathable . The weight distribution is excellent, the durability is excellent, and the pack so well made! She would recommend this pack to anyone. Osprey guarantees against rips, tears, etc. The price premium is small compared to the high gain in quality and comfort.

Its a great backpack for my Solo Trekking last Autumn Season at Japanese Northern Alps for 2 nights and 3 days. Carrying a 19k wt. seems like 10k wt. at Ariel 65 :). I am planning a one week Solo Trekking with Ariel this coming Autumn at Dolphin Rocks of Tsubakuro dake for the first night and two nights at Jonen Dake for Yari ga dake sightseeing( Japanese Matternhorn ). Im sure Ariel can carry a one week food supply and trekking wears. My plan is to descend at Kamikochi after climbing at Karasawa :) and to soak at onsen before going home.It s GREAT pack!!
PS:
Backpack Rain Cover(mine is 60/90 size Millet which can cover the pack with a sleeping mat(Therma rest) attached in your Ariel65) is optional(a must item that will save your Trekking adventure and life.Mountain weather is unpredictable. When your pack gets wet, you`re in for Trouble ).
Ariel has loop holes for Trekking poles (convenient),has Drink holder on both sides and detachable Lumbar pack that can make your Trekking life enjoyable by detaching it for using like ascending to the Summit while all your heavy gears are all left in your camping site!
Ariel is my Trekking buddy ;). Really Great !
