5.0 out of 5 stars I love this cd!!!! It is my fav!!!
I bought this cd a couple of months back and I'm glad I did! It is the most listened to cd I have! My friend borrows it because she loves Sailor Moon and likes these songs as much as I do. My favorite songs are My Only Love and Rainy Day Man. Well, I don't really have a fav, I liked them all except for Only A Memory Away! Only A Memory Away is Sailor Mecury's song...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good CD
Of the two Sailormoon Cds this is my favorite. Manly because, all the songs appear in the series.

Sailormoon theme- I'll admit I was never really a fan of this song, I prefered the japanese opening. Plus it sounded like two untalented preschoolers singing.

I wanna be a star- This is a very good song. It has an upbeat tune to it. I really enjoyed this song until it...

Only A Memory Away is Sailor Mecury's song and they changed it from the one in the series and it sounds too country for me. It gets on my nerves. But, since I listened to the cd so much it doesn't work anymore! Well, it still works, but it bumps and you can't hear part of the songs some of the time. Shows you how much I listened to it! I recommend you buy this cd! I guess I'm going to have to buy it again if I want to listen to Sailor Moon music more! I also plan on buying 'Sailor Moon: Lunarock' another Sailor Moon cd that has just came out. It has two japanese songs on there from the original series in Japan, Moonlight Densetsu(Moonlight Legend) and Ai No Sensi(Soldier of Love)! The rest of the songs on the Lunarock cd are from the last 17 episodes in Sailor Moon R. So I also recommend you buy 'Sailor Moon and The Scouts: Lunarock'! Sailor Moon ROCKS! ^_^

I really enjoyed this song until it got to Sailormoon saying all that retarded stuff at the end.

My only love- I love this song! It was the most beautiful song from the first series in the english dub! This is supposed to be a sad song.

Call my name- I didn't like this one too much. It sounded like country music and Sailormoon takes place in Japan. This would be my least favorite.

Starry night- This is a good song, Its a slow song, but enjoyable.

Its a new day- hmmmm..... This is a fair song, it didn't really fit in with the series. the senshi(scout) had no memory of their past, and the lyrics didn't fit to what was going on.

Carry on- Great english song! It wrapped up the entire first series. It could have benn longer since the actual battle was as long as moonlight destenu!

Rainy day man- I like this song, infact, it was my favorite.

Only a memory away- no offence to who sings this but they could get some singing lessons!

She's got the power- Great battle song, I prefered Ai no senshi though, great song though.

Sailor moon ending theme-see sailormoon theme.

4.0 out of 5 stars The music is substantial, and it's worthy of your money., June 30, 1999
By A Customer
This is an all around great album and a must for any die-hard Sailor Moon fan. Heck, you don't have to be a Sailor Moon fan to even enjoy it. It has the perfact combo of nastay guitar riffs on powered tracks like "Carry On" and "Sailor Moon Theme." There's also happy pop tunes. "Call My Name" is a bit too happy, but it's nevertheless a decent tune and great instrumentals (supposedly, Sailor Mars is singing it as well as the song "Oh! Starry Night.") My favorite songs are probably "Rainy Day Man," with it's R&B style grooves and somewhat depressing lyrics, and "My Only Love," which very nicely combines a romantic feel with a soulful electric guitar solo. However, like most albums, "Sailor Moon: Songs from the Hit TV series" has it's weak points. One would be the track "She's got the Power." It's the only song sung by a male preformer, whom is driven by a raspy-voice. Not only are the vocals weak, but the futile attempts at making this song sound techno were just sad electronic blips and voice distortions. All and all, this is an excellent album. But c'mon, DIC, beef it up! Add in some transformation music and some dialog tracks for goo'ness sakes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!, December 23, 2002
This CD is soooo great! Just about all the songs are wonderful and fun to hear. The only bad thing found was that the tracks barely over 3 minutes long (except for "I wanna be a star", and some are even shorter.
1. Sailor Moon Theme (10/10)- You've all heard it before.
2. I Wanna Be A Star! (10/10)- This one is fun to sing and light-hearted (not to mention the longest track on this album [3:30ish]
3. My Only Love (10/10)- One of the best! This is a romantic song and it has a good melody.

4. Call My Name (And I'll Be There) (8/10)- Not bad. It's about friendship.
5. Oh Starry Night (9/10)- Jupiter sings this one. It's a pretty song about finding the riht one.
6. It's A New Day (8/10)- Another fun track.
7. Carry On (10/10)- This is good fight song. The only snag is that its short.
8. Rainy Day Man (9/10)- This is another good song about a friend whos always ther for you.
9. Only Memory Away (9/10)- Mercury sings on this one. It's about how she's going away, but is still needed.
10. She's Got The Power (8/10)- Another fight song with a cool rock beat.
11. Sailor Moon Theme (Reprise) (8/10)- Again, you've all heard this one. Not as good as the first, as it's much shorter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than you might think!, August 31, 2002

"fisheyekun" (the dark side of the Moon) - See all my reviews
I don't like those hardcore Sailor Moon fans who dis everything Dic ever did in America. This CD is actually very good, and while not on the level of the imports, it's still a standout in my music collection. What do I think of the individual tracks? Well...
1. Sailor Moon Theme-What can I say about this song? We've all heard it ten million times. I like it.
2. I Wanna Be a Star!-Dangerously catchy, this song will sneak up on you when you least expect it and demand that you listen to it.

3. My Only Love-One of my faves. Very beautiful.
4. Call My Name(And I'll Be There)-Like track 2, this song grows on you very quickly.
5. Oh Starry Night-Another great song about young love.
6. It's a New Day-Probably my least favorite on the CD. I don't know why, it just doesn't grab me like the others.
7. Carry On-I love this song because it cemented in my mind the image of Serena fighting Beryl(or Metallia-whatever).
8. Rainy Day Man-This is my favorite song on the CD. It has wonderful lyrics(though the singer sounds nothing like Jupiter).
9. Only a Memory Away-Hey, the singer sounds something like the person she's supposed to be! Great!
10. She's Got the Power-This song is half decent, if you forget it's supposed to be about Sailor Moon.
11. Sailor Moon Theme(Reprise)-Don't we all hum this song in the shower from time to time? C'mon, admit it...
Well, there it is. I would highly advise all Moonies or even wannabe Moonies to go for this. It is...excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice addition to any Sailor Moon collection, January 12, 2000

First off it must be said that if the dubbed voice of Sailor Moon makes you run and hide, don't be afraid -- her singing voice is much better. This CD is a lot of fun for those familiar with the Dic version of Sailor Moon -- almost nostalgic for those of us who cut our teeth on this series. The music is very energetic and of the teen pop variety (heavy on studio mixes and synthesizers). I liked the sweet and dreamy "My Only Love" and the optimistic and powerful "Carry On." (That must be rather unique, a cheerful fight song.) "Only A Memory Away" was a disappointment because it was totally different than the (better) song they used in the actual episode. (By the way, is it only in my head, or is "Call My Name" reminiscent of the "Friends" theme?) If you like Sailor Moon, I think you will regret not having this CD as a part of your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sailor Moon ROCKS!!!, January 13, 2001
A Kid's Review
I just bought this CD a couple of weeks ago and it's great! I listen to this CD all the time! My favorites are My Only Love, Carry On, Rainy Day Man, Starry Night, and Sailor Moon Theme. They are all so good! I think any Sailor Moon fan should buy this, because it has Sailor Mercury's song, Only A Memory Away, Sailor Mars' song, Oh Starry Night, and Sailor Jupiter's song, Rainy Day Man. I don't know if there is a Sailor Venus song. I have addresses to some Sailor Moon songs without words. Oh Starry Night is www.angelfire.com/biz2/allismoon/starrynight.mid. Only a Memory Away is www.angelfire.com/biz2/allismoon/memory.mid. Carry On is wwwangelfire.com/biz2/allismoon/Carryon.mid. Sailor Venus' song is www.angelfire.com/biz2/allismoon/venus.mid. And, finally, the Sailor Moon Theme is www.ilovesailormoon.com/smtheme.mid. I highly recommend this CD!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars If you love Sailor Moon, this is a must-have., January 30, 1999

Ok ok, we all know you want it for that great song, "My Only Love," right? But that's not all you get! Within the 28 minutes of this CD are the other songs from the series including a nice R&B version of "Oh Starry Night" and a very seventies, "I Wanna Be a Star." I warn you that if you're expecting the songs to sound exactly how they do in the series, you may be (slightly) disappointed; the CD version of Amy's "Only a Memory Away" is nothing like it is in the series. This however is the only exception. Another nice thing is all those obscure lyrics are right here! YES! Finally! Add this to the fact that the songs themselves are very catchy and you have one more reason to buy this great CD!
