Recently my 9 year-old golden retriever began having problems standing on wood floors, his back paws would slide sideways and he would have trouble holding himself up or otherwise walking. This was especially true when he first woke up in the morning, his back legs seemed stiff and he also had trouble going down stairs. He did not have as much trouble on carpets or outside, but it was clear he was having some joint issues.

After doing some online research, I decided to give Osteo Pet Glucosamine Chondroitin for Dogs a try. This same basic formula is also made for humans, incidentally, with excellent results. Read around online and you'll see.

Well, it's only been a few weeks, but my dog's improvement is very noticeable. He no longer has trouble on wood floors, and he can get down the stairs like he used to. No hesitation, no limping, no trouble at all. He likes the bacon flavor of these tablets, which are somewhat large, and he gobbles them down as if they were a dog treat. No issues there whatsoever.

My only concern is that, because my dog weighs about 85 lbs., he needs to take 4 of these tabs every day (per the recommendation on the bottle). This is going to get expensive, but of course, I'd pay alot more to keep him healthy and active.

Bottom line is, this product seems to work very well, and I'm very glad my dog likes the taste of it so it's easy to get him to chew them up. If your dog is having joint issues as well, give this a try and perhaps your dog will respond like mine did. Good luck.

Our dog used to not be able to walk anywhere without limping. It was so sad to see him try to go down the road. He would almost fall over. He loves this and now he RUNS down the road. REALLY! It works.....It changed our dogs life! Plus we no longer feel guilty everytime we see him in pain. We wanted to try this before taking him to the vet and probably getting on steroids for arthritis.

Great product, my dog likes the taste of the tablets and I noticed he is willing to walk longer distances (my dog is 16+ years old) also noticed less limping. THANKS!

My dog loved it, and so did her vet. He said the formula is excellent, and my dog is a little bit old and big (8-year-old lab), so it seems to be ideal for her!

My 12 yr old greyhound has arthritis in his lower back and hips. He walks and gets up better and more often on Osteo Pet. He is a VERY picky eater and won't chew them as a treat so we crush them and put them in his food. We have tried going to other products that he will chew, but none have worked as well.

This stuff smells terrible, and apparently tastes bad too...my dog won't come near anything that the chew-pill touches. He tried it the first time, then acted as if I poisoned him. I even slid it into a piece of steak and he wouldn't come near it. If he were stranded on an island, he would rather chew off his foot than eat one of these.

I bought this for my dog that is 12 and experiencing joint pain. I crumble one tablet into his food every day and after using one bottle there seems to be no more pain. It does smell fishy so beware.

These seemed to relieve my dog's ankle pain but she hated the taste. I had to keep putting them into tasty treats which she still worked at eating around, even spitting the medicine out after she ate the treat. I'm looking for something she will like better.

We have two dogs a terrier mix age 14 and a rat terrier 13. Both were having difficulty going up and down stairs. Carrying a 12 pound pup up and down stairs is easy but the 26 pound dog was something else. We started them on the Osteo Pet Glucosamine mid June. After two months they have definitely improved. Both dogs are able to climb and descend the stairs with ease now. Our 14 year old's hind legs used to shake and sometimes slip from under him while he stood to eat. The shaking is minimal now and he slips only occasionally. Both dogs have definitely benefited from this product. We are thankful to have found something that has really helped them.

In only two weeks time we have experienced a marked improvement in our 11 year old lab's energy level and mobility. We decided to try this product before paying $50-$100 per month for arthritis medications prescribed by the vet that can damage his internal organs. We are so happy to see our old dog looking younger and spunkier. He has no trouble chewing the tablets despite his declining ability to eat hard/crunchy foods. As one reviewer previously stated, our 85 pound dog needs to eat 4 tablets per day which means ordering two bottles per month. This is still much less expensive than paying for vet prescribed medications. Well worth the cost for our lab's improved quality of life.
