4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product!!
I could not do without this product. I have made not only Quesadilla's but also pancakes, omlets, sandwiches, and I am still looking at more recipes. It takes only 2 mintues for a thick pancake compared to on a stovetop. My only negative on this unit is that if you use butter it is very messy and hard to cleanup. 2.0 out of 5 stars Quesadilla maker too small
Before I purchased this item, I compared it to the Salton Santa Fe quesadilla maker and decided on this one, but now I'm not sure I made the correct decision. According to the reviews I read on the Salton Santa Fe model, the plastic lid is flimsy and breaks easily when applying pressure on the lid to close it with a full quesadilla. The case on the Oster is sturdy, but it...

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Gadget, July 27, 2008
This review is from: Oster 3210 Electric Nonstick Quesadilla Maker (Kitchen)
I chose this one over the larger Salton model because I live alone and don't need such large portions. The low carb 8 inch tortillas sold at my local grocer fit perfectly. I usally just cut one in half and add my favorite topings (rotiserie chicken and cheese or banana peppers) and grill it up. It works great and doesn't take up a lot of space.

I LOVE, LOVE this little machine. I have made omelets, grilled cheese, garlic toast, chicken breast, salmon steaks, fried eggs, hot dogs, onions and peppers, crab cakes. I think the only thing I haven't made in it is quesadillas. I live alone and it is a perfect size for me. Very easy to clean, I just pour a small amount of water in it while it's hot, then I pull the plug, after it cools a little I put in a folded paper towel (to absorb the water) and after it cools completely I wipe both the inside and outside with another paper towel. Amazon I love you, I dropped and broke the one I had and I have been searching for another one and YOU ARE THE ONLY PLACE I HAVE FOUND THAT HAS IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect meals for one or two!, December 28, 2009

I have owned the Santa Fe Quesadilla maker for over 2 years, and while I really enjoyed the quesadillas that it made, I always dreaded cleaning the machine after I was done with it. The channel around the edge always seemed to get filled with cheese or grease run-off, no matter how little ingredients I placed inside.
I purchased this Oster quesadilla maker on a whim while on a long-term business trip - I was tired of going out to eat every night and wanted to be able to cook in my hotel room from time to time. This is really an ideal size if you're cooking for 1 or 2 people - it heats quickly and toasts tortillas within about 2 minutes, so the only thing you have to be mindful of is to add already-warmed ingredients (meats/veggies) to the inside so they'll be nice and hot! Clean-up is a breeze - just a quick wipe with a damp paper towel is all it needs since there's no grease channel for run-off. Added bonus to this is that it's small enough to store just about anywhere - not the size of a large dinner plate like the Santa Fe quesadilla maker. I definitely enjoy the end product that both of these machines create, but the Oster is much more useful for someone who only needs to cook for one or two people at a time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect pancake maker too, June 20, 2009

I love this product.
Quesidillas come out crunchy and soo good.
The top and bottom plates are non-stick so you
don't need a lot of oil or butter. One spray of Pam or
something similar and you are all set.
A pancake comes out perfect. Two minutes and done.
And no flipping.

The only drawback is that it is probably not good
for a family, since you can only cook one thing
at a time. But for a couple it is perfect.

The case on the Oster is sturdy, but it only measures 6.5" across. The Salton is 12" across. Almost twice as big and the Salton is also less expensive. We've decided that instead of making one quesadilla and sharing it, we'll make one for each person dining. Still, this could have been larger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent & Easy, January 12, 2008
This review is from: Oster 3210 Electric Nonstick Quesadilla Maker (Kitchen)
Really, this is the neatest & best SIMPLE gift I've gotten in a long time! Fixing sandwiches, quesadillas or whatever you want to toast or warm will be 20x better than using the microwave or stove. It's easy to use, very quick & ultra fast to clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT for a small meal or snack..., September 22, 2009
This review is from: Oster 3210 Electric Nonstick Quesadilla Maker (Kitchen)
I bought an Oster quesadilla maker about a month ago and use it at least 2-3 times a week. Not only do I use it to make kickass chicken/steak quesadillas, but in the morning I like to whip up a couple of eggs, mix in some shredded cheese and a little salsa, cut up some chicken/steak strips, pour the mixture on to the hot plate, and... breakfast omelet! It does a pretty good job of keeping everything contained to minimize spill-over, and clean-up is a breeze.

The only major criticism people seem to have is that it's too small. Big deal, make two quesadillas. If you pre-heat it, almost everything takes just 2-3 minutes to make. I love this thing!

I will admit that I bought this so I could turn over more responsibility to my kids. Gladly, my teenage son jumped on board and uses it daily. He doesn't do much cooking beyond this. Macaroni and cheese and spaghetti he can do, but he still gets a bit anxious. Guess I better use August to give him some cooking classes...Anyway, it heats up quickly, is sturdy just like our Oster waffle maker, and makes a good quesadilla. I have to keep bell peppers, onions, and suitable cheese on hand or my son is asking for it. I chose this one even though it doesn't offer the ability to segment the quesadilla because I wanted a sturdy, well made product. To earn 5 stars I would like to see a feature that segments the quesadilla and somehow get rid of the unpleasant odor when it would heat up during the first several uses.

It's the perfect size for your standard 10-in. tortilla, like the wheat ones that I use, and it's the only one that is both sturdy, so likely to last, and allows you to stuff lots of goodies into your quesadilla. It helps to turn it about half way 'round about halfway through (they all need to be higher in the back than in the front, but designers don't see to realize that). I've yet to burn anything even though I've forgotten that I had something cooking. It does not shut off automatically, though. Don't buy that silly red-colored brand. This one is far better.
