I have tried numerous bottle openers, all with varying degrees of success (cork in the bottle, etc). I saw this at a friends house and immediately bought one for myself. Once it's charged, as advertised it will open dozens of bottles before needing to be recharged. I bought this as a Christmas present for friends knowing they will love it, too.

Did not expect much from this in truth. I was very pleasantly surprised! It does not take up much space and makes opening wine bottles a snap! It comes with a foil cutter that sits right at the top/back of the charger unit. Foil cutter works well.

Recieved this as a gift, and absolutely love it! Although, I do admit to wondering how lazy I was to need an electric opener or if it'd really work that well to justify it. It does. I've had every type of wine opener and this one is the most durable and easy to use. There's a great foil cutter and a handy place to store it on the base - so I don't have to dig around looking for one.


The only reason I've given this 4-stars are that the stopper and pourer aren't all that great. As a gift they make a nice package, but the stopper just doesn't seal well enough to lay bottles on their side without leaking.

Since, I'm now purchasing this as a gift for other folks, I know the stopper and pourer aren't really "FREE". This version costs more than the regular opener (Oster 4207 Electric Wine Opener, I'd recommend buying just the opener and another good stopper or the Oster 4208 Inspire Electric Wine Opener with Wine Chiller for gifts.

Bottom Line: Great opener and great gift for wine lovers - though I'd skip this version with the "free" pourer and stopper in favor of just the opener or another combo.

This is the easiest thing in the world to use to open wine bottles. We've given this as a gift to so many people who have tried ours and loved it.

We are replacing our original Oster opener with this one, our original one lasted faithfully for over 5 years. I have a hard time with manual openers and this one has always worked extremely well, we leave ours in the charger so there is no issue with needing to re-charge it.

We first bought this wine opener last year and have used it over and over. We have since that time ordered many as gifts because we value the products function. My husband has arthritis in his hands, we entertain a lot, this wine opener purchased from Amazon fits the bill.

Product was defective.. I had a bit of a hassle getting information on who to return the item to. I was finally told to contact DBroth, which I did. After sveral e-mails I was told to send the opener back to them for a refund, and to enclose a copy of the printed e-mail letter they sent with the return. I packaged the item and shipped it at a cost of $8.90 After I had shipped it and was told they were refunding the item cost of $22.95 plus the shippinmg cost that I paid them for the item in the amount of $12.95. I sent them a letter telling them that I was very unhappy about having to outlay $8.90 to ship back the defective merc handise. It was a couple days latter I received a call from the company and the told me that they sent me authorization to return the item at their expense. I explained to them that I never received that information. and so it stands I have incured the $8.90 expense to ship back their defective merchandise. I am not happy about this and hope I do not run into this situation agin.
