Great Clippers - One Con,
This review is from: Oster Power Pro Ultra Cordless Professional Animal Clipper Kit with Storage Case (Misc.)
Oster Power-Pro Ultra Cordless-Clipper Kit with Blade and Storage Case
I purchased this Oster PowerPro Ultra kit via Amazon back in Feb' 08, and - after four rounds of heavy use in six months - I am mostly pleased. I have two Old English Sheepdogs. My previous Wahl Kennel Pro clippers were pathetic when it came to removing their full coats and mats, but the Oster PowerPro Ultra with wide blocking blade (which I purchased via JeffersPet) flies through their mats and body coat, and the 40/10 blade takes care of the rest. (Tip: since this is a cordless clipper, I use the post-bath, wet-shave method for quick removal of full coat.) My dogs wish I had found these clippers years ago. The ONLY problem I have with these clippers is the batteries: their actual run time varies; their full-use lifespan (at least in my six months) is shorter than advertised; and one new battery costs approx' $44.00. I usually try to clip my dogs on separate days; but my schedule does not always allow that convenience. If you do NOT have two large, heavy-coated dogs that you may ever need to clip and groom in the same block of time (e.g. - same morning, etc.), then you should not have any problems. However, when I have had to clip both dogs consecutively, switching out batteries only works a few times before the recharging battery is too weak to be used again and all clipping comes to a halt. I go to ear cleaning or trimming with scissors while waiting for the battery to recharge. (I really need another charging unit and two more batteries!) But - that's me. If you are only clipping one dog and need fast, smooth, conveniently cordless clippers, buy this kit.

Oster false advertised the batteries and their life...,
This review is from: Oster Power Pro Ultra Cordless Professional Animal Clipper Kit with Storage Case (Misc.)
I've used oster clippers for years with various results. The best of their corded "golden" clippers get so hot that you burn an animal with the blade and the new fanned ones are no better. These new cordless clippers are the pits. The batteries don't have enough power and no life at all. They actually go dead on their own in a matter of weeks. So, when you get the urge to clip your pet you must first get the sweet little case out to find dead clipper batteries. So then go get the old plug-in variety, clip the dog and take some pictures by the time these expensive good for nothing "professional" clippers are ready to do something. Forget about it! The dealer told me to forget about warranty on the batteries too! And $44 to replace them? - forget about it! They will need to do something about the batteries but hold your hat for the price for that!!! Did I say: FORGET ABOUT IT?!!!!

Over priced, noisy, heavy, and slow.,
This review is from: Oster Power Pro Ultra Cordless Professional Animal Clipper Kit with Storage Case (Misc.)
I bough these clippers wanting a very good set of cordless clippers. I thought that is what I would get because of the price. I use them on horses. I have a old set of $60 clippers and wanted to get something better. These oster clippers are slow, vibrate, and make noise which isn't good for horses plus they don't cut good in heavy leg hair. They keep stalling. My old clippers that are worn out do a better job. Don't buy these expecting to have a professional set of clippers. They are over priced by a factor of 3. They do have a nice box and charger though so if you want to look good but don't want to clip hair they would be ok.
