I don't know how the other oster/Sunbeam hair dryer types work. i;'ve heard stories with product defecting, melting plastic etc, as for this one, it's sturdy, strong base, metal plate is used for mounting, in addition, GFCI shock protection outlet plug, and night light included. I don't know how long the night light will work for, however, it's been two months and I have no problems with it. only disadvantage is that the on/off button is on the base of the product, so if ur arm is far from the base, it's inconvenient to turn off. Unlike the other products with on/off switch on the hairdryer itself. I would still purchase this one over anything else due to it's popularity in hotels, raving reviews from others, and personal satisfaction with product. enjoy.

We now have three of these and they are hard to find. This is the model that has plenty of power and a high speed with less or more heat.Most other models have a wimpy high speed with no choice of less heat. Very useful when you just want to finish drying off but don't want to cook.Nice and easy to mount. Good Product!!

I recieved this hair dryer 3 weeks ago and I love it. My hair never looked so good, no split ends the high setting is not to hot and does not dry out your hair and the low setting gives you that smooth finish that just makes it perfect.It is easy to handle and very light.
I had the older model for about 4 yrs. so I hope this one last as long as I do use it on a daily basis.

This is an outstanding hair dryer. I first encountered it at a hotel/motel, purchased one for my master bathroom, then purchased another to install in a guest bathroom.

Quick service, the size of the product was a little different than expected. I previously owned the 1500 wall mount and it was smaller than the one I just received. But it works great and fit the old mount perfectly.

Disappointed that the hair dryer does not have a "cool air" setting. Need to have just cool air for some drying needs.

Product arrived quickly and was exacctly as advertised. Hair dryer works well and mounted without any problems. I particularly like the built in night light, which frees up one of the electric sockets in the bathroom.

I had an old version of this dryer for over 20 years and loved it. It went to 3 different homes with me. The one I just purchased doesn't heat up as much for drying/curling hair at same time. Have to use a curling iron now. Not happy about adding a step to morning routine.

I had 2 of the previous model of this Oster hair dryer in my home for the past 10 years and they both died within one week of another... Now that's planned obsolesence. This new model is a bit larger and more stylish; but, it seems to be a litte weaker in the power department.

I purchased this dryer about 3 months ago and thought it was supper! However, I have changed my tune. I have hardly used this and already is is weakening. It does not blow as well as it did orginally. It barely blows on high. It is ready for the trash AND now I have holes in the wall to repair! I have gone back to my older dryer.
