I have a shih tzu and bought this groomer clipper kit to keep him shaped between visits to the groomers. Unfortunately, I wasted my money because the clipper will not even cut through his hair. I think I would do better with a mustache trimmer than this clipper. Do yourself a favor and save your money, this clipper isn't strong enough to cut through short hair.

I've tried 3 times to trim up my 2 pekepoos and the only thing I've accomplished is wearing the dogs and myself out. It's like I'm combing my dogs with a huge comb. I'm so disappointed in the trimmers and have wasted my money!

I bought this last year. It wouldn't cut any hair on my lhasa poo. I had to use my old one instead. What a waste of money.

I find this item to be very useful, easy to use and it pays for itself with just one use. The video (included) gave me all I needed to use it sucessfully.

This clipper set lasted for almost 6 years now. I groom my schnauzer at home every 3 months or so and I have not really had any issues with it. I do not use any of the blade guards, so I don't know how the clippers work with those on. The clippers last a long time before getting warm, but I do usually have to use clipper cool spray by the end of the groom. The blades are just now starting to get dull, which is amazing because I am not the best at keeping the blades lubed and clean. This was the first kit that we bought to learn to groom our dog at home and it definitely paid for itself with all the money we saved on grooming bills. I'd say that if you are not trying to do anything fancy with these clippers and are not a professional groomer, these should do the job. I am buying a new clipper set now, because even after sharpening the blades, this clipper has started just raking through the hair and not actually trimming it. I think the actual clippers need to be serviced, possibly there is something wrong with the part that holds the blades together. After 6 years of use, I am ready to just get a new clipper and retire this one.

These clippers SUCK. I've tried for quite awhile to get them to cut my dogs one inch hair with the shortest guard and all it does is comb the hair. I took the guard/height guide, started with her legs and now they're BALD. I want my money back. Marsha

Great Kit, scissors work as well. Since I have a schnauzer, the clip-on attachments do not work on my puppy, but I guess they are great to have.
