5.0 out of 5 stars oster microwave
I bought a Oster microwave at a garage sale for one dollar.
It worked, but would not get hot.
I found a fuse burned out and that fixed it.
I have 3 other microwaves in my kitchen.
The Oster will boil water in 3 min.
In a test I did it got 30 degrees hotter than all my other microwaves in a time trial.
I do not know if I got a freak deal...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this!
This is not worth the money! Within 2 weeks, it stopped working on the first try. We have to try 5-7 times to get the microwave to turn on! We enter the cooktime and when we hit start, nothing happens. We have to keep opening the door and resetting it. Worst microwave ever, don't waste your money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it at all, May 7, 2010
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Sure it's shiny and cute but what is the use of a microwave that doesn't cook? The timer runs but nothing happens on any of the modes. We have to keep clearing and closing and maybe one try number 10 it might run for a few seconds before shutting itself off. It's less than a week old for God's sake. Total POS.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just adequate - wouldn't buy again, November 7, 2010
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I bought this little oven, less than a year ago, in part because it matched our other kitchen appliances so well - stainless, black glass, even the handle matched. It worked well enough, though I never could get the timer to work by itself, and the turning plate in it would occasionally just stop and start instead of continuously turning. Yesterday I put a bag of microwavable popcorn in it, used the oven's own "popcorn" setting, and BANG!, the glass plate split in two! When I checked Oster's own website for a replacement I found that they don't even list microwaves anymore! I did find a company that has the replacement plate - -but it's sold out and not expected back in stock for another 3 weeks....maybe. And it's $20 for just the plate. And NO the plate was not cracked or damaged in ANY way before it split in half.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless, November 4, 2010
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
My wife and I purchased this item one week ago. Today, it began to turn off and on on its own. Now, it will not even work. When we open the door, the plate turns on its own. Kinda creepy, like it's possessed or something! We are now in the process of trying to get our money back. Run away from this one!

This microwave worked great for the first 90 days I had it. Then it just stopped working all of a sudden. After it quit working, I lost all confidence in this brand. It had great aesthetics, but that's about it.

As an aside, I purchased this Microwave at Target, not Amazon.com.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible quality, October 31, 2010
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I wish I had read these other reviews before I registered for this as a wedding gift. We got it in July; by the middle of October it stopped working. It will run and the light will turn on, but it doesn't heat anything. Don't buy this if you want to keep your microwave more than three months.

1.0 out of 5 stars terrible microwave!! If I could, would give ZERO stars., July 8, 2011
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
This is my first review ever, and I'm only writing it so everybody would keep their hands away from this unit.
Had it for 4 months and couple of days. Suddenly, I put the food in, punch in the time and "start", nothing is happening. It counts down the time, light in the microwave shines, but it doesn't do a thing. The plate is not turning, no noise from heating.I unplug it, wait several minutes. Try it again. The same thing.

Next day I call Oster and try to deal with them about the problem. I tell them the type of the microwave and I describe the problem the way: Hello, I have a microwave of the OGB61101 type. I purchased it on March 02, 2011, I still have warranty, I have my receipt. The microwave when I place anything in it just counts down the time, the light in the microwave is on, but the plate inside is not turning, and the unit makes no noise at all and it is not heating. The sweet lady on the line made me feel like I'm a dumb piece of #*#@!!.
Description:
Did you have recently a problem with power in your home? "No, I didn't." So your power didn't come off in the whole house? "No, it didn't."
Ok.... here is what I want you to do. Unplug the microwave for 30 seconds. "It is unplugged."
Why it is unplugged (says with very irritated voice). "Because I didn't see a point to have a faulty microwave sucking the electricity I pay and since it is broken, I didn't want it to blow up and take my house with it.
Ok then. Plug it back in. Set the time, ok? Is it done? And now take a cup, fill it with water, place it in microwave and then press one-zero-zero and Start. What it is doing? "Nothing, exactly what I told you before. Light in microwave is on, it counts down the time, it does not turn the plate, it does not heat."
OK.... so lets wait until the time is down to zero. So, can you take out the cup and tell me, if the water is warm? "No, the water is not warm, the microwave is not working."

WTH???? Do you need to make dumbbells out of your customers for real??? I described, what was going on!!

Next, they email you all what you need to do in order to get a refund. You cut 8 inches of power cord with the plug, the turntable ring and stickers from back of the microwave.
And now hold your breath: YOU MAIL IT ALL TO CANADA.

WTH again??? If I knew, there was no service in whole USA, I would not have bought it! Shouldn't be there some liability of a company, when you buy something in USA to provide a service in USA? Apparently they don't play that game. They play game called "how bad you want your money".

Folks, buy something else, not this worthless piece of... garbage.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible!, January 16, 2011
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Owned the microwave for less than a year and it stopped working. I thought it was the fuse, but it seems cheaper to buy a new microwave than replace the fuse. It looks very pretty, but it does not last long. The website and owner's manual were no help in diagnosing the problem. Would not buy from this company again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it!, January 10, 2011
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I didn't buy this from Amazon (which I love!) but from a local store in May 2010. It died on me today Jan 10,2011 and of course the store won't take it back. It was fine this morning...time was displaying, etc., and I opened the door to put some food in for lunch and it went black, no power to it anywhere. I thought maybe I'd blown a fuse or the wall socket went bad so I moved it across the room to another outlet...nothing! I just ate an $80 microwave. I've hated this one from the start...limited controls, doesn't heat very well...it looks nice and that's about all it has going for it. It will look great AT THE DUMP!

2.0 out of 5 stars Random shut-offs = not good, May 13, 2011
This review is from: Oster OGB61101 1.1-Cubic-Feet Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Well, I think I've had this microwave for about two years now and about 6 months ago it started turning on and off randomly...last night it totally died and it won't come back on. It is a beautiful microwave, but I agree with the others- not worth it for this sort of performance. :(
