The Medium Take Down Quick (TDQ) Blade does exactly what it's designed to do. Cuts through thick fur, tangles, etc. Glad I purchased this item.

I have been cutting my dogs hair (English Springer Spaniel) for years with an Oster clipper and the extra wide blade. I noticed this curved version after I noted that my original blade was no longer cutting as well as it did years before. I bought this to see if any difference was noticible. Oh yes there was. Due to the curve I was far less prone to gouge my dog during the process. Because of that I was able to also cut the hair quicker.

This blade took my German Shep coat down in no time... he has a long thick coat and undercoat, but with this blade in my clippers, it took half the time it normally would with the cheaper versions interchangeable blades. I would recommend this blade to anyone who hates to see their long haired pals hot in the summer.

This medium clipper for my Oster A5 did a very good job cutting my dogs mess of over grown and matted hair. It was very bad. His hair was like a sheep so I was looking for shears to cut sheep and found this one which fit onto my clippers. The other attachments for my Oster A5 clipper could not cut through the mess, they are more like regular human hair clippers and just get caught up and won't cut.
Now it did take some work and a little patience but after I got use to it I was happy with the results. You have to go slow and peck away at it. This was much better than trying to use a scissors on the matted stuff. It does cut very short almost bald so you have to watch it some. On my dog it was not an issue as his hair grows so fast that he looked fine in a couple of days.
Over all I was very satisfied and will now save $50.00 for a hour of work instead of taking him in for a cut. It would probably take half the time if I did not wait so long to cut him.

i LOVE this, as does my havanese. my dog has a cottony fur so she matts just looking at you. add that to the fact she loved being pet and rolling on the carpet and grooming was a nightmare -- she was all knots... this took her down to a nice short length in ONE pass ... it was like shearing a sheep ... the matts just fell away!

i didn't even use my finishing blade this did such a nice job

it does get hot so either have two (i need to do that) or plan on stopping the clipper cool didn't really cool this down all that much.

Oster Take Down Quick replacement blade makes short work of shaving a long haired dog. I use it on an Andis Pro and this was listed as the correct replacement. It is not a solid fit, it's off a bit from the original. It still works but needs to be coaxed (banged really) back in alignment. I am saying it's the blade because it's the exact number and name of the original blade that came with the clippers. Something changed along the way. It's doable but very annoying.

We got the professional clippers to save money on grooming our Old English Sheepdog and the regular blades did not cut it. I am assuming the proper procedure for cutting with the regular blades is bathe, brush, then sheer. That is too much for us :)These cut through the hair like butter. The only negative is the clips do not fit on it because the blades is extra wide. We live in AZ so the shaved look is not a problem.

This is the fourth blade I have bought in an effort to get one that cuts properly in the curley fur on my dog. The first pass I tried took the fur to just about skin level with no problems. I had to put a comb on to finish the job after trimming her stomach. This blade trims better than any I have tried on curley fur.
