I have 2 medium sized very long haired animals. Both of them hadn't been shaved in a long time and they started to get thick hair mattes...so I really struggled to find a razor that would be strong enough for something akin to shearing sheep, this one did it, no problems. Though this is not a no maintenance razor, you have to lube it, add coolant, clean it, etc.

This clipper works really well on my Bichon-Poo! The first time I tried it, I did not have any comb attachments and his hair came out way too short and uneven, but then I bought the attachments and the razor works great and his hair is even! It's saves me money from having to pay someone to clip him every 6 weeks and I can do it whenever it is convenient for me!

the oster two speed golden 5 clipper is amazing we have a mixed breed with 2 coats of longer hair. had no problems at all shaving her,it is money well spent!!!!
