Wonderfully light to carry but strong with cool & open fabric that is not easily stained by suntan lotions or oils. The fabric is open enough to allow airflow to make this chair easy to carry during breezy days and also has a comfortable handle in one wooden arm along with an adjustable shoulder strap for carrying to the beach. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a cupholder hidden under one arm just the right size for bottled water or a canned beverage to help keep me cool on hot days. The footrest is short but padded to allow for comfort when your legs hang over the edge. The reading porthole in the headrest is also padded for your face to rest on while on your stomach reading a book & getting sun on your back. Loved this chair!!

I've had a chance to use my chair once since the purchase. While I love the idea for the chair, it seems a bit flimsy for the price. Like any lawnchair, it's very easy to put up. My problem is that it collapsed on me & I ended up in a pile under it. Once again....to much money for the chair.

This chair feels as cheap and flimsy as it looks. The plastic around the foot rest cracked immediately. Waste of money.

Very nice sturdy chair. ( I weigh 235 lbs. ) I doubt, though that the foot rest part will survive long, bu OI can live without that.

First let me say that the concept of an open area for the face is fantastic. Now the bad news--mine also has an open area where I sit. I purchased an Ostrich at REDIX in Wrightsville Beach, NC. I used it approximately three times or rather three days at the beach. A tear developed at the seam where the support post for the arm meets the chair frame. The tear is about 4" long. First, I contacted the retailer, REDIX. The junior salesperson said that the boss was out, but not to worry, he never replaces or credits "used" items. So much for ever shopping again at that pretentious preppie beachside southern ripoff. Next, I contacted Ostrich Headquarters to explain the tear. They responded to my email quickly, but, in true form, let me know that the 90-day warranty had passed and I could try to fix it myself or try a seamstress or tailor. They did offer to sell me another Ostrich at a 40% discount but then, (finally getting smart) I quickly remembered that summer is basically over and everything sold at the end of summer is discounted 40%. When a retailer or manufacturer charges almost $100 for a product, the least that one should expect is a base level of quality and some level of support if that quality breaks down. Caveat Emptor! Never pay $100 for any item in this economy that rips, tears or breaks down with little or no use. A similar chair can be bought at many other stores (HomeDepot, Sears, Lowes, Target, or your local outdoor store, AND THEY WILL TAKE IT BACK or REPLACE IT--NO QUESTIONS ASKED. So the hole for the face is a great concept, which by the way is the reason for most of the positive reviews; but the novelty fades quickly when the overall quality of the product is shoddy.

sitting in the chair is great...but laying on your stomach is a joke. This chair is too short for that...great concept but poorly created.

I purchased this Ostrich chair because it was the least expensive one available on the internet. After seeing the newer model on the beach, I now know why this one was so cheap- it's an old model, and looks nothing like the new ones. I would much rather of had the newer chair and paid the extra money. The difference between the chairs is quite significant, the newer chair has a pillow and appears to be longer. Shame on Camping Station for not representing it properly.

This chair is the BEST!!! I can read at the beach and not strain my neck. It is lightweight enough to carry easily. The price I paid on Amazon was about $30. less than I found anywhere else.

This is one of the best beach chairs that I have owned. It is very lightweight and comfortable. The only part I would work on is the foot rest area. It could use something a little stronger than the plastic joints. Other than that great chair!

Although the product is a previous model, the chair is worth every dollar, It's lightweight it carries itself so easily with the shoulder Strap, and is just an excellent chair at a unbelievable low price.
