Last week I saw some kind of murder mystery on TV and the question was asked, why does it take so long to find the suspect when Kennedy's assassin was arrested in under 90 minutes with old fashioned police work? So here's that question answered.
I think that in all of the conspiracy and the attention seeking accounts in film and in manufactured stories we would do so much better to listen to a better account of it all. it is a quiet story told with humility and no other agenda than, it seems, to share a personal story with anyone who cares to read it.
I was glad when this turned out to be the kind of story I talked about above, and not another conspiracy theory. you see this account is a great reminder of how ordinary people get wrapped up in large events. but in the end, Nick, plays his part with bravery and continues to lead a decent life afterward, doing the job he set out to do in the first place. he comes across as a very likeable and modest person and I think that is what makes the story great

I knew Nick and Sally. My police officer husband worked that terrible day also. I thought I learned things about Nick I really didn't know, but, it was more like an autobiography. Other officers in the theatre that day disagreed with his take that he almost single handily captured Oswald. Nick was a nice guy and as far as I know very honest. We attended the same church. WE lived in the same neighborhood as the McDonalds and Tippits. Several other officers lived in the neighborhood with the nick name of "Hungry Heights".
The Further along in the book, I found that there was some serious research done, to compare past and present and the dangers to the Presidents. Therefore, I change the rating from 3 stars to 5!

"Yesterday I arrested Oswald, today I arrested some kids for stealing hubcaps".
That sums it up and I think that any cop would agree. The author paints a picture that is accurate and to the point, calling BS where he sees it. He points out alleged "Heros" who never were present and did absolutely nothing to effect the arrest of Oswald but took the credit for others work did. I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing account.

We enjoyed reading this "real man" account of the policeman who arrested Lee Harvey Oswald. It's good to read behind the scenes stories. Good stuff and easy to read.
