WOW!!,
By
This review is from: The Other Half of My Soul (Paperback)
The Other Half Of My Soul is a marvelous read. I could not put it down. The plot held me spellbound. The snake part had me curling in my seat. I could not wait to come home from work to finish it without interruption. I read right through dinner. Not a hunger pain or even a desire to fix something for myself. I could not think about going to sleep. Whew! Suspense right up to the end. I recommend that the whole world read it. I hope there will be a sequel.

Timely and compelling,

An excellent read! As others have said, it is hard to put down from the very beginning. Although it is a novel, this book helps you attach the stories of individuals with events from the Middle East and the rest of the world. Very easy reading style, can't believe it is her first novel! I'll be looking for more!

This review is from: The Other Half of My Soul (Paperback)
As an avid reader, this is one book that I could not put down. I was hooked from the very first page.
The characters were so real that I felt I knew them personally. Bahia Abrams cleverly weaves an incredible love story between a Muslim and a Jew with real issues and actual places in today's world. The Other Half of My Soul is rich with romance, action, and intrigue. I recommend this novel to anyone who is prepared to stay up all night!

Powerful Insight,
This review is from: The Other Half of My Soul (Paperback)
The author exquisitely revealed the two sides of religion. The positive and the negative. Showing that all religions have similar beliefs in loving and caring and their negative beliefs of fanaticism. The author showed how the fanaticism of religion can tear families apart, tear cultures apart, and tear countries apart. While at the same time, showing how love and acceptance can overcome all differences. This book provides an impactul "wake up" call in a very meaninful way for all.

Driven by suspense and mystery, "The Other Half Of My Soul" is an utterly captivating story of culture clash overcome by the power of love. Deftly plotted with engaging characters, the reader will immerse into an incredible learning experience, glued to the pages long into the night. For a first-time novelist, Bahia Abrams scores a Ten.

Hollywood should film this!,
By
This review is from: The Other Half of My Soul (Hardcover)
This is a very exciting, interesting, contemporary story mixing "forbidden" love between Moslem and Jew with international terrorism. Although it is fiction, I learned a great deal about a community I never knew existed--a large group of highly successful Syrian Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn. When I read this book, it played like a movie in my mind. Either Hollywood should make it into a movie or someone should produce it as TV miniseries.

An intriguing and motivational story of romance while defying society,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Other Half of My Soul (Hardcover)
True love completes a person, balancing them with the traits they are missing in their life. "The Other Half of My Soul" is not a traditional love story. One half of this puzzle is a Syrian Muslim, brought up to despise the Jews. The other is an affluent Jewish woman who has dreams of traveling abroad. Love seemed unlikely, yet it bloomed, making "The Other Half of My Soul" an intriguing and motivational story of romance while defying society.

A Love Unbroken,
This review is from: The Other Half of My Soul (Paperback)
This is a Romeo and Juliet story between Muslim and Jew, with a tightly wrought plot and carefully done research which takes you to interesting and exotic places around the world. The language suits the ancient cultures of the central lovers and I found that very charming. The story itself was moving and the message heartwarming. It also made me think more deeply about tribal hostilities and how we can overcome them. All in all a very worthwhile read.
