There are many "art photography" books to be found. Most of them are just naked pictures, usually in black and white, that are beautifully shot, but say nothing. Most books of this nature have no visceral impact on the viewer of the photography beyond the appreciation of a beautiful body. Not so with the work of Jeff Burton. Jeff Burton's The Other Place really shows us sex and sexuality and media in ways that we would normally not see them on our own. It is a beautiful, shocking, challenging collection of photographs that really pushes its audience to confront their own interactions with art, with pornography, with sex and ultimately with all human interaction.

Jeff Burton's THE OTHER PLACE provides an extraordinary set of images by one who has worked in the porn industry for almost twenty years. Portraits of men and women are graphic and often startling in subject and arrangement, yet little staging effort is artificially inserted. THE OTHER PLACE represents the first collection of his works and is a blend of documentary and art piece.
