Book Description

March 12, 1996
"I saw and felt the most beautiful luminous blue. I was serene, tranquil, free, and could happily have stayed there forever."
Jan Price was destined not to linger in paradise but to return to the physical world and the body she had left behind during a nearly fatal heart attack.
This book is Jan's account of her near-death experience and the many precious lessons it taught her--most important, that death need never be feared, by anyone. She describes the beautiful spiritual country in which she found herself and her joyous encounters there. She reflects on why near-death experiences happen and why they've become so common. Jan's husband, bestselling inspirational author John Randolph Price, also contributes to the story, sharing his feelings and experiences during this tremendous crisis.
Guilt and punishment, forgiveness and transformation, life and love, earth and eternity--Jan Price's remarkable story teaches us about all of them, joyfully and unforgettably.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Extraodinary Book -- Read it, February 13, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Other Side of Death (Paperback)
I decided I had to voice my opinion after reading the other customer notes on this book. I've studied the Prices' work for years, and this book is as authentic as they come. For persons with little spiritual discernment, it may seem far-fetched. For those who have studied the spiritual journey and have a sense of what is possible, the book resonates with honesty, commitment and truth.

As for classifying the Price's work as new-age, I would take issue with that. I would suggest rather than their work has been a logical offshoot of transcendentalism and a retelling of the old mystery school truths which go back to the hermetic teachings and beyond.

But rather than try to debunk what has been said, I would recommend you read this book, and decide for yourself. Particularly if you have made a commitment to the spiritual journey, this book contains some important messages.

The Prices are not an ordinary couple; they have been studying and teaching spiritual truths for decades. They are scholarly, yet much of their material comes from direct revelation which has been astonishing in its impact on the world. Their contribution of the world healing meditation had millions meditating on world healing in the '80s, and is still going on as an important worldwide healing activity today.

If you have sincerely worked with some of the modern spiritual teachings; e.g., ACIM, Power vs. Force, Goldsmith, Unity, Religious Science, Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, etc., I would highly recommend this book for you. If you are enmeshed with orthodox religious belief systems, this book probably is not for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful & Profound, October 11, 2006

This review is from: The Other Side of Death (Paperback)
After dying of a major heart attack, the author Jan Price experienced a taste of heaven through her near-death-experience. In "The Other Side of Death", Mrs. Price eloquently describes what she experienced - providing wonderful messages for us all - as well as discussing the similar experiences of others.

If you are at all interested in spirituality & NDE's, I would highly recommend this book. It's an easy to read, insightful book that will warm your heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Too "fluffy" for me, December 1, 2009
This review is from: The Other Side of Death (Paperback)
First I need to start this review off by saying that I'm a total believer in the afterlife, spirits ect.
So I started reading this book with high hopes but became disappointed.

Mrs. Price seems like a very nice , sincere lady and I have had many , many supernatural experiences in my own life for which I have been disbelieved and mocked, so in general, I would never dare to try to deny somebody else's experience(because in the end if you weren't there or aren't that person, how do you know?)

But she wrote about experiencing and believing a lot of things that I simply do not-There is no hell,God never judges, there is no punishment for anything, animals are not only in the afterlife, but speak to you using words and human ideas and thought concepts, ect.

Now, could I be wrong and could all these things be true?
Sure, its a possibility. I cannot offer hard, indisputable proof of my own beliefs or disprove anyone elses beyond a reasonable doubt but because those beliefs/experiences of hers run directly contrary to my own I believe that stopped me from relating to this book on a deep level and getting out of it what I'd hoped to.
