This book stresses RESPONSIBILITY first and foremost!!!!!!,

This review is from: The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal (Paperback)
If children 16 or above (just my opinion) express an interest in ghost hunting, parents should get this book. It is definitely a book that both parents and their teens/young adults should read together to get info about "real" ghost hunting. TV doesn't show even half of the most important stuff about ghost hunting, and TV gives the impression that investigators can become TV stars, have a full-time job as an investigator, and get rich. This book is the antidote to all of that false information, tells it like it really is, AND the book stresses responsible behavior above all. There are also some really great tips on how to avoid pitfalls and includes other great hints, such as letting an adult in on the group or keeping an adult informed of the group's activities. The importance of responsibility and safety is stressed throughout the book.
Besides stressing the important stuff, it is written for teens and adults who are beginner investigators. There are chapters on lots of different things like tech terms, equipment, what to do and what NOT to do, physical and spiritual safety tips, etc.

Excellent overview of the field,
This review is from: The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal (Paperback)
The Other Side does a great job of distilling a ton of information into a witty, fast-paced read. I appreciate the authors' efforts to make history, physics, religion, and safety palatable to a young audience. If you're an adult, you'll find the book a well-organized primer on equipment, techniques, and pitfalls of this hobby. A great read for newbies!

A well-written book on paranormal investigations, written in an easy to understand and thoughtful way. I met Dave Schrader at a paracon event in Mansfield Ohio this week and he knows his stuff!!! Covers a variety of subjects within, and well worth the money!

Freaking awesome book,
This review is from: The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal (Paperback)
This book is incredible. It is so well written that even an A.D.D kid like me cant put it down. It provides a realistic view on paranormal investigations while entertaining you with tidbits of humor. I have suggested this book to many of my friends because it makes you think about things you would have never thought of, like something as simple as not wearing thick soled shoes. The paranormal group that my mom belongs to even bought the book. It doesn't matter if you're an amature or a hardcore ghost hunter, this book is extremely helpful. sincerely, Nick L.

Perfect Beginner's Manual,

This review is from: The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal (Paperback)
I have an interest in the paranormal and recently found out my kids do too. I bought this book for them but ended up reading it myself before giving it to them. The book is perfect not just for teens but for the beginning investigator as well. The different aspects of ghost hunting are touched on in a clear and concise way without being bogged down like a tech manual. The book is a quick read and not real long but still goes into enough detail to hold your attention.

Great Ghost Hunting Book!,
This review is from: The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal (Paperback)
This is a fun book that takes more of a light-hearted approach to ghost investigation. If you've ever seen these authors at a paranormal event, you know they know their stuff, but they also have a passion for the unexplained.
When I first heard about this book I had a concern about teens ghost hunting, but then I recalled my own interest started as a teen -- but back then there were no books for us. I'm glad to see someone taking an approach like this considering how popular the subject is in the media today. My only complaint is the occassional net-jive like "lol" and "JK", but maybe younger readers like that stuff. After a few pages I learned to gloss right over it and enjoy the tips and stories.

pleased purchase,
This review is from: The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal (Paperback)
I purchased this book for my nephew, we often ghost hunt together. He has read it and loves it. This book expands on all that i have told him and reinforces safety as well as issues of trespassing etc. I have encouraged many friends to purchase and will continue to do so. i would also recommend this book for adults! Easy read.
Thank you

It is a good book for those just getting started. It gives some wonderful explanations mixed with a bit of humor as well as a few warnings about the field. There are a few very helpful chapters such as "Do's and Don'ts, as well as the chapter on "Demonology." It gives the reader something to think about.
