Weiss is banging rhythm and blues tunes with much enthusiasm and the disk even includes Dr. John and a cool duet with Rickie Lee Jones. His voice is rough, which matches the rollicking nature of the songs perfectly. (I think/heard) The songs are straight from demo tapes but the imperfect sound quality and occasional musician miscues only add to the fun, making you feel like your in a smoky bar experiencing him in person.
