Very good indeed - but not for the squeamish, February 20, 2011

This is an excellent collection. Five generously sized, well-written and extremely horny stories. There are some pretty extreme sexual relationships here and some very kinky ideas, which, though they might not be to everyone's taste, are well handled, intriguing and always highly erotically charged.
`Snake' is about a married woman addicted to a secret submissive relationship with a man she has never actually seen. `Throat' is a wild gothic fantasy set in a subterranean world populated by sexual misfits. The title story, `Rope', starts with a climax and builds from there as a man tries to keep pace with his beautiful neighbor's compulsion to be restrained. `Sleepwalkers' shows what happens when a new boyfriend reveals more about his past lovers than he should, and in `The Drop' a successful woman with a taste for dominant men finds herself strung up in a way she had never before imagined.
The best thing about these stories - with the exception of Throat, which is a more gothic tale - is that they get into the psychology of BSDM. While the sex is calculating, intense and very explicit, the characters are real people with real desires and this often brings a surprising warmth to the dangerous relationships they have with each other. As one of them says: `It's funny how little you can really know of someone until you've tied them up.'
Rope! has a wicked insight into the need to go too far, the thrill of giving up control and the pleasure that comes from being very bad indeed.
Very highly recommended.
