Jungle craziness.
An American journalist gets involved in strange goings on with a trible down on the Amazon. Or, bad things, man. Steamy things man. Plus a few snakes. While an ok atmosphere for the book, the story isn't really very interesting at all. 2.5 out of 5n

Interesting story, but the details were a little off...,

This review is from: Otherworld (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a book written by an author with a particularly vivid imagination. The imagery involved was extremely well written and described. The plot, while somewhat predictable, overall, had some nice twists and turns, plus a few bone-jolting surprises. The part that I have to gripe about though is that the descriptions of the snakes are designed to play on the fears of those who are ignorant of them. Several times, snakes are referred to as being "slimy", when they rarely are. Certainly, they are not when they have been wandering around in a hut, as the first one was. It also throws hideous (but inaccurate) descriptions of local spiders at the reader. While the rest of the book I would call quite good, these hackneyed images drag it down a couple of notches.
