Works for all my guns,

This is the best firearm cleaning kit I have ever used. I use it for pistols, rifles (including AR-15 carbines), and shotguns.
When getting started, the video is useful; but they recommend pulling each patch up to 6 times and I've found that is too much. I generally pull each patch 3 times and I use 2 patches for each gun. Also, the larger patches claim to be 'all-caliber'; but stick to the smaller patches for .22 and smaller bores - or you'll run into all kinds of problems:). Although this will get you started, you will need to buy new cleaning patches (I buy cases of 1K) and also new bore brushes as the ones in the kit wear out. The only thing that I wasn't overly impressed with was the lense cleaning kit. Fortunately, cleaning lenses is fairly easy and I've never felt like a dedicated kit was required. I never used the oil that comes with the kit since I prefer Slip2000 EWL lube; but it is available if you want to use Otis brand CLP... I like to keep this larger kit at my workbench where I do my major gun cleaning and then I keep one of the smaller pouches in my range bag. If you're looking for a good cleaning kit that will cover just about everything, then I suspect this is the kit for you.

Good Kit, But...,

First the good. The kit I received arrived in a very timely manner and the item matches the description and photos completely. I found the items in the kit to be of good quality and the bag also seemed well made. I suspect this kit will provide years of service.
The not so good. Several folks have pointed out that this kit is overpriced. Personally I suspect if you went and purchased all the items in this kit it would cost approximately what the sale price was. However, I wonder if anyone would ever actual purchase all these items individually. The truth of the matter is this kit contains several items that I will most likely never utilize such as bore brushes for calibers I do not own. I suppose if you had a very extensive collection you might need all these items, but wouldn't you already have some of them? At the end of the day this is a good quality kit that matches the description. However, to me it seems like it is designed for a person that I doubt exists - someone with a very extensive gun collection that does not own any cleaning supplies.

Love the Kit, Hate the Case!,

I had debated for several months about whether I wanted to give the Otis kit(s) a try. However the fact that I have recently acquired several rifles that can't be cleaned easily from the breech using a conventional rod, combined with the $15 rebate, convinced me to go ahead and pull the trigger.I love the kit itself. I've been shooting for over 39 years, and my cleaning supplies have become a hodge-podge of accumulated parts. Still and all, I never seemed to have exactly what I needed when I needed it. That's all solved by the Otis Elite - it has just about everything! Sure, there are some things I don't need right this minute, like a 28 gauge shotgun brush, but if and when I do need it, I have it. I like the cable concept, and after I was able to clean my Colt M4-.22 carbine from the breech using the included special short .22 brush, I was convinced. The only thing I don't like - and I'm not even deducting a star for it - is the nylon kit-bag. They tried to design it well, but it's awkward and difficult to use. Frankly, being that this kit is kind of tailored toward an armorer, I fail to see the need for having a soft kit bag to carry into the field. I decided to abandon the bag and consolidate all my supplies into one container, and a three-tray Plano tacklebox worked perfectly. See my pictures I've uploaded above for how I arranged things. Oh - and the icing on the cake - the Otis kit is made in the United States.
