Product Description

Oto-Ease is a greaseless lubricant that eases insertion of ear molds and hearing aids while inhibiting the growth of bacteria. The glycerin base is quickly and safely absorbed into the ear tissue and softens it. This allows an ear mold or hearing instrument to snuggle in and seat very, very well. The result of this is a better fitting that greatly reduces the likelihood of feedback and sore ears. Only one drop is needed, so this half-ounce bottle will last a long time Snap-tight, attached cover prevents messy drips and lost caps.

After reading reviews here, I emailed the company (Westone) and asked about mercury in their product. Here is their response:


Please find the current MSDS attached for Oto-Ease, dated Dec 2008 for product Westone sells. Previous to December 2008 trace amounts of Mercury could be found in Oto-Ease. However, that is no longer the case, that ingredient has been removed.

I love this product and will continue using it.

Our 3 yr old son wears hearing aids, and this stuff is GREAT! it helps them slip right in, no twisting or struggling to get them to fit correctly. i haven't been able to find it in the drugstore, so this is a lifesaver!

Grandma swears by this stuff for her hearing aids. It's a greaseless lubricant but her audiologist says she could use baby-oil instead.

It does contain a small amount of Phenylmercuric nitrate, which the ICSC says can irritate skin; so don't swallow it and discontinue use if redness or irritation develops.
