5.0 out of 5 stars Definitive ENT handbook
During my 4th year of medical school I struggled and ultimately failed to find a concise yet comprehensive handbook of otolaryngology. After reviewing many handbooks of ENT during the first 2 years of my residency, I have concluded that Dr. Pasha's book is the most well-organized, concise review of otolaryngology available. All ENT interns, junior residents, and 4th...

3.0 out of 5 stars Medical Student Review
This book is indeed used by many of the ENT residents. I didn't find it as useful on my externships and ENT rotations as other resources. The index is very skeletal and information is sometimes difficult to find. It is more useful for the resident trying to memorize lists of topic associations for their board exams, than it is for medical students who are concerned...

5.0 out of 5 stars Otolaryngology: : Head & Neck Surgery, October 7, 2000
An excellent book on Otolarynology; very comprehensive, yet easy to read, less mistakes; a practical tool useful not only for medical students and residents, but also for all otolaryngologists currently active in practice; great format; lots of up to date practical clinical information; certainly better than the book by K. J. Lee. Also recommend reading Facial Plastic Section which is outstanding

3.0 out of 5 stars Medical Student Review, August 19, 2007
This review is from: Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery--A Clinical & Reference Guide, Second Edition (Paperback)
This book is indeed used by many of the ENT residents. I didn't find it as useful on my externships and ENT rotations as other resources. The index is very skeletal and information is sometimes difficult to find. It is more useful for the resident trying to memorize lists of topic associations for their board exams, than it is for medical students who are concerned with the fundamentals and with correctly answering pimping questions. Furthermore, it is very expensive and used copies are difficult to find. Personally, I found using ENT secrets in conjunction with Lange's book more effective.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Rocks!, June 25, 2001

It's like borrowing the notes from your chief resident -- a thoroughly understandable, straight-forward review of otolaryngology. It's very helpful to establish a framework of understanding to allow further review of a subject. I wish I'd had it when I started my residency.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great overall coverage, August 1, 2004
By
I am very pleased with this book, and it is so compact!
I did use it for preparation for boards, but it has a major weakness in plastics. There were some glaring gaps in that section as well as some incorrect information. I used Papel's book for plastics and this one for everything else and did great.
A must have.

3.0 out of 5 stars Concise, quick review, February 10, 2008

This review is from: Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery--A Clinical & Reference Guide, Second Edition (Paperback)
I use this book just prior to conference or the OR as a quick refresher for cases when I was a junior resident and also as a companion when studying for the yearly inservice. It is generally quick/concise text.

I gave it 3 stars because the index is poorly organized. Unless you know the chapter where the information is located, you can be assured that you will not be able to find in a timely manner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Factually dense, February 8, 2008

This review is from: Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery--A Clinical & Reference Guide, Second Edition (Paperback)
An impressive quantity of information presented in a small easy to carry around book. Good lay out makes easy reading. Index is rubbish but I am sure this is to keep the size of the book to a minimum.
