Sadao Watanabe, Japan's gift to alto saxophone, has done it again! ("Outra Vez" = "Futatabi" = "Once Again"). Through his prolific career, Watanabe has created a treasure chest of both bebop jazz and Brazilian music. This 2013 set was recorded in Sao Paolo, Brazil, with an all-Brazilian band, and then mixed in Japan. This is a relaxed, mellow outing and the sound quality is excellent. The highlights include the two songs with Fabiana Cozza taking the vocal honors, "Tema Para E Novo Vento" and "Sympatico". In 2012, Ms. Cozza was awarded the "Best Female Singer of Samba" by Brazilian Music. If you enjoy Astrud Gilberto, Laurindo Almeida, & Luis Bonfa, etc., then please do yourself a favor - - - - !
