The Ott-Lite VisionSaver lamp simulates natural daylight, reducing eyestrain and allowing you to see colors and image definition more accurately. Developed by Dr. John Nash Ott, the Ott-Lite uses a blend of phosphors to provide a natural light that won't wear on you over time like other artificial lighting can.
The Ott-Lite has no on/off switch, but the light turns off automatically when the lamp is folded down. The base of the lamp can be swiveled 360 degrees for a perfect fit in any work environment. Standing at just 12 inches tall, the portable Ott-Lite is best suited for task lighting. A convenient carrying handle allows you to move it easily from one workspace to another.
When we examined the Ott-Lite, we found its light does resemble natural daylight, more so than that of a standard desk lamp. The Ott-Lite's 5-inch bulb provided a crisp yet soothing light without being too bright, while standard desk lamps often give off an unfocused yellowish glow. Colors appeared more accurate with the Ott-Lite, and it seemed to cause less glare on our computer screen, so the screen's text and detail looked sharper.
