I bought this in hopes of protecting my Ally from my clumsy self. I am now on my third case in three months. The main fault in this case is the front plate. It's quite thin, and the clips don't make it easy to come off once you get it on to say, switch screen protectors. The first one broke when I dropped it 6" onto a counter top. Second one broke when I tried to pry off the case.
Second issue, the screen protector is too thick and I actually returned two phones to Verizon because both I and the rep thought that it was my phone, but it was actually that the screen protector is too thick that the captive buttons would not work.
Otterbox has great customer service though. Which is a huge plus. They have no issues with sending you a new case if yours breaks.

I read the reviews of this product before I bought it, but seeing as how I already broke a different case for this same phone, I was willing to give it a try. The case is solid, very well constructed, but the only problem I see with it is the slide function of the phone. When you slide the phone open, the clips that hold the top shell and the clips that hold the bottom shell on catch against each other and can break if you just try to "gorilla" the slide open anyways. You need to carefully slide the phone past the point where the clips catch, otherwise you will snap the clips off and then the cover will not stay on. Like I stated in the title, good product, design is a little bit faulty though. If you get into a hurry, or angry or anything like that, you are going to break the clips off and the case will not stay on any longer.

The face plate on this case is veary cheap. I only had mine for a couple months and it already broke just from normal use. The face plate is VERY VERY VERY THIN and not durable at all. I would expect a lot better product from otterbox knowing how much the phone cost that the case is going to be protecting.

While sitting down, I drop my phone onto a carpeted floor and both bottom corners of the face piece snapped. It was the first time I had dropped my phone with the otter box on it.

Neat concept, but the top part of this case broke within the first week. Worst part, it broke randomly, not after dropping the phone or anything. Return process is kind of a pain, but looks promising.

I ordered this case for an LG Axis which has the same profile, but slightly different bottom button contour. Happily the case fits like a glove without issues! The clear screen guard will not fit, but from other reviews it sounds like most people will end up throwing it out anyway.

This is the best case I have found, it is very sturdy. It does sometimes catch when sliding open the phone to access the keyboard. With a little experimentation I have figured out a way to open it so that it doesn't catch. If your case catches try sliding it open with one hand pushing only the top part of the phone with your thumb. If I open it that way it never catches.

I have purchased other cases before and they typically do not last long. I'm not real hard on my phone but the tabs usually break or wear off. This one has a rubber sleeve that helps keep the phone clean and well protected in case of a fall. I bought one for my wife as well and she is hard on hers and it's held up really well. I would and have recommended this to friends.

i bought this case for my lg (axis) because they are the same size. ive had this for a while and its survived many drops. im hoping to buy another soon. the only thing i have to say is that when you drop it the front plate will pop off... but what do you expect. i havent ever had the problem that others have with the front faceplate breaking although mine is chiped it works fine.
