When I read the reviews about this case I read a lot of positive and negative and now I know they are both true. The Otterbox Commuter- Series Hybird Case for HTC EVO 3D is just okay. This case has a design flaw. Their is a silicone case that goes on first, then a hard case that goes over that. The hard case that goes over the silicone case only covers the middle and sides of the silicone case and it fits tightly and this causes the top and bottom of the silicone case the push outward. The silicone case stretches out rather quickly and this causes a loose fit at the top and bottom of the case where dust get in.

I was reluctant to order this case since I read that it had fitment issues, I had the impact series and it to had a fitment issue were it had a gap on the top, so I figured Otter must have done this to all of their EVO 3D casses.After searching for days for a descent case( I work for a cell phone company also) I could not find anything that looked close to the Commuter Series so decided to risk it. I recieved my Commuter Series case yesterday and all I can say is I must have recieved an updated version, because the case fits perfect, I cant make it not fit, everything on mine is flush, Id take a picture but I cant take a picture of my phone with my phone...
I am extremly happy with it, it looks awsome, and all the buttons respond great! Dont get me wrong their are cases out their that have fitment issues, I know this because my Impact Series did, but their must be some out their that are immune to the problem, Im happy to have one of them. Overall and exellent professional case that looks awsome!!

Contrary to other customer reviews, this case fits my Virgin Mobile HTC EVO V 4G phone perfectly with no spacing issues. The top is slightly loose and easy to pry back, but it's by no means too large. I guess I got lucky, not receiving one of the lemon products. I got mine from Future Wireless Electronics INC. and was fulfilled by Amazon.

One thing that I did not know when I got this case was that it has two parts: a inner silicone layer and the outer, hard plastic layer. The silicone part is not tight enough to use just that on the phone, so you have to use both parts. But there are other silicon cases available if you want to do that. This layer has a space for the 2D/3D switch, a cap for the shutter button, and a cover flap for the charging port, as well as covers for all the buttons. The outer plastic only covers the middle section of the phone, with the silicon sticking out the top and bottom for a nice grip. This has a hole for the charging port so you can easily flip open the silicon cover underneath, a space for the switch, and a hole for the shutter button and volume buttons so you can access the silicon part. The two layers make it nice for carrying money, documents, etc. in between them. It's too small for a credit card or large/thick paper, though, because of the size of the 3D camera. I keep my The Dark Knight Rises midnight release ticket in there.

I loved my EVO 4G Otterbox Commuter.

I bought the evo3d Commuter and the silicone gel is way too loose. It it most noticeably at the top.

I contacted otterbox thinking I had a defective one. They sent me a new one and its the same exact issue. Very disappointed.

Case is nice and I had no fitting issues like other reviewers, but is too bulky for my tastes, plus the silicone sleeve parts that are exposed on the top and sides attract every speck of lint and dust they get near.

Pros:
* Good looking case
* Not too much extra bulk

Cons:
* Silicone was very loose
* Hard to press physical buttons
* Screen protector had lack of cling on edges

Review:
When I put the Otterbox Commuter case on my Evo 3D, it was immediately apparent that the silicone was too loose. As another reviewer mentioned, there was quite a large gap between the top of the phone and the case. This gap was not only visible, but you could feel the give when trying to press the power/lock button on top of the phone. This led to a number of failed attempts to press the button, and required that I use a good deal of force to hit it.

I also could not get portions of the edge of the included screen protector to adhere to my screen. These were not bubbles, as I repeatedly tried to smooth them out. It just seemed as though the static cling, which is used to hold the screen protector on, was missing at certain points. This was a minor issue, but it was still an eyesore.

On the positive side, the case looked very sharp, especially the hard plastic outer piece. I didn't drop the case, so I can't speak to it's protective qualities, but it appeared sturdy enough. Unfortunately, the poor fit of the silicone was too much for me, so I had to return the case. I will probably go in person to a couple of stores to try cases on before buying another one. Right now I'm looking at the Seideo Active case Seidio CSK3HEV3D-BK ACTIVE Case for HTC EVO 3D - 1 Pack - Case - Retail Packaging - Black - I will update if I get it.

I apparently got one that didn't fit. there was a 2 mm gap at the top between the phone and the case and it made it just about impossible to actuate the power button, especially since the evo 3d power button is pretty low-profile without a case. It seemed like a 50/50 chance. I took it and lost. It really seems like they should have been sending the defective ones back to the manufacturer and weeding them out by now. I got it from one of the stores having amazon fulfill their orders and sending it back is not a problem.just check the return policy before buying if you get it from some other store. there's a 50/50 chance you'll have to send it back.
