Get'em while their HOT!

This is an excellent armband for use with the otterbox defender case. After I got my iPhone and defender case I thought for sure I was going to be stuck either with some universal case that didn't fit very well or I would have to remove my iPhone from it's protection to put it in a less protective armband that provided no protection from the elements when outside running. The only thing that I have found so far that keeps me from giving five stars is that the band gets a little distorted after a few uses, but that could just be the type of material that it is. All and all I am very pleased with this product and would get it again if I needed a replacement.

I purchased the defender armband so that I could bike with my iPhone 3GS while it was in my otterbox defender case. Unfortunately, the third time I used it the silicon armband tore at the corner as I was securing the device. Otterbox was extremely accomodating in sending me a new armband even though I did not buy it directly from them. Be very careful when you stretch the molded silicon in order to insert your defender case. Stretching the silicon armband to secure the corner of the defender case, especially if you have any fingernails at all (I am a guitar player), can cause the silicon to tear straight through, redering the armband useless. I should think women with long fingernails should be particularly careful.

I have had an OtterBox case for my 3G iPhone since 2 weeks after I got the phone, but that case is really inconvenient for use in sports activities (it doesn't quite fit in the pocket and can be awkward to hand carry when you need your hands for steering a bike). It was not clear at-first whether this arm-band would work with the iPhone 3G Defender case, but I asked OtterBox directly through their web form and they cheerfully confirmed compatibility.

The arm-band works great, although the strap-loop tends to get bunched up if over-tightened, otherwise it holds the OtterBox quite securely. Most likely due to the larger size of the iPhone 3G, the rubberized material of the strap doesnt quite seem to fully seat over the OtterBox, however when a set of head-phones are installed through the conveniently placed voids, it becomes impossible for the phone to simply fall-out accidentally. The stretchy rubber material of the holder has a fairly high level of friction and takes a couple of insert/remove tries before the process becomes automatic.

Getting your iPhone defender case into this armband will be a challenge. Strangely though, the iPhone without the case is a perfect fit. It appears that the armband is designed to fit a whole host of otterboxes of varying size, with the iPhone defender case on the larger end of what is compatible.

I recommend searching for an armband you can use without the defender case, unless you are adamant about not removing the iPhone from the case.

I would recommend getting this arm band for the Defender series protective cases. It holds my iPhone very securely and stays put. The band wears very comfortably.
The only thing I do not like about this band is that when adjusting it on your arm the flexible band will bunch up on one side of the plastic buckles and then you have to straighten it out to the center. Once you do though, it seems to stay put Ok. I got this to mainly run and workout with. I would buy this arm band again even knowing about the small problem I mentioned.

Comfortable and has enough room to keep the shell on and have my earbud case behind my iPod touch.

I ordered this product for my brother - he loves his iPhone! I got this along with Otterbox's Defender case.

My brother loves them both. He now normally keeps his iPhone in the Defender case at all times for the great protection. He uses the armband, though, at will, and at odd times (not just outdoors or physical activities - sometimes in sessions, meetings, etc. if critical subjects are under scrutiny that merit priority attention, sometimes just for his convenience if he's on the go and using the iphone heavily (airports, flying) = doesn't have to get it in/out of a hip case).

Otterbox makes great, quality products. Recommended if you want an armband case for your iPhone - one of, if not, the best.

This product is great for someone who has smaller arms, I am a medium built guy and it wont fit around my bicep. Also it does not fit an otterbox, too small. You may be able to squeeze it in, but I have to take mine out of the case in order to use this.

I bought this item for my workouts and I'm very pleased with it! I have big guns so I can only strap it on my forearms instead of my arm close to my shoulder as I'd prefer but it still works. If you have a otterbox case, you already know that it makes your Iphone look bulkier and this armband dont help much in that area. These are a few complains of some of my friends that see it. I personally like it enough to give it 5 stars because it fits your otterbox like a perfect rubber glove, the strap is wide enough and it feels safely secure (I toss it all the time, just to probe a point and it hasnt failed me yet)
