OtterBox Defender Case for BlackBerry 9330, 9300, 8530, and 8520 (Black)

I raise miniature horses and bought this Otterbox Defender Case for my new Blackberry Curve 8530. The belt case with the clip I put on my car visor. I am often outdoors in all kinds of weather and needed something to protect my phone. I love that this has both a screen and a keyboard cover. This is perfect with all the dust, hair, and water that is constantly around. I would recommend this cover for people that live very active outdoor lives.

This is a great phone cover. It has many layers that work well to protect your blackberry, however all these layers do add some bulk to the phone. My husband doesn't use the clip to try and cut down on some on this 'bulkiness,' but if you are looking for a cover that makes your blackberry indestructible, than this is the cover for you!

This item has proven itself many times over in the short time that I have had it, I have dropped my phone many times with no damage. I love the protection, the only thing that I am not crazy about is the size but I can live with that if I don't have to replace my phone due to dropping it.

I ordered this product because I'm always dropping my phones. I purchased a blackberry for the 1st time and wanted to make sure it wouldn't have to 'suffer' like my others phones in the past have. The BB that I have, for some reason, constantly needs to be reset-which involves the removal of the battery....and herein lies the problem. The 'rubber' portion of the defender case begins to lose shape after it's been taken off and put back on a few times. It is now a little loose. So, if you have a BB that doesn't have its own issues, then the defender case is great.

Bought this for the wife and she loves it. I was worried it would be too bulky but it really is not. Does a great job protecting her Blackberry. The keys are even covered with the little thin film of vinyl?plastic? which she chose to have me install, on my old blackberry I chose not too - choice is good.. I feel like this device would survive a 5 foot drop and keep on ticking. It is not too bulky and the price was right. Very satisfied and would easily recommend this to folks who want the added protection and peace of mind..

I work for a water and sewer company and come into contact with a lot of dirty, wet situations that can drastically shorten the lifespan of a phone so I needed a rugged but practical and affordable protection system for my new Blackberry Curve 8530. I am so glad I picked this one! I am really amazed at the thoughtful design of this cover. It has everything you could think of. There is a flexible keypad protector that wraps around the phone and seals with static cling on the back, then a snap on hard shell with a built in screen protector, a filter over the speaker and a clear protector over the camera lens and LED. Lastly is a rubber slip-over piece that fits like a glove, adds shock resistance and is ultra smooth so it goes in and out of my pocket easily and all openings are sealed but accessible. Also has convenience buttons molded into the rubber to match the ones on the phone like the volume control, music player controls, etc and they work perfectly. Includes a holster with belt clip and magnet (not sure why a magnet but I figure if I need it I'll be glad it's there). The trackball and outer buttons on the keypad are a little harder to use because of the rigid plastic case edges being close to them but I think it's just a matter of getting used to it and does not reduce my satisfaction with the product overall. All in all, one the best products I have come across in a very long time. Very well-thought out design, very user-friendly, and in my opinion worth every penny to protect my phone.

After seeing various people and friends with the OtterBox, I opted to try it and purchase one. TRUST ME-GREAT INVESTMENT!! With the hard plastic casing along with the reinforced rubber casing, you can't lose. Unfortunately I put it through the test right off the bat when I dropped my BlackBerry the second day after putting the Otterbox case on it. WOW! Kept it completely safe, you will not be sorry, especially if you keep your smartphone any length of time. I also like the fact with the Defender case has rubber around it. I am a Diabetic and have problems with the feeling in my hands and will drop things or cannot grip like I used to. This casing has been a Godsend in that regard as well. Some may be put off the price, but believe me, it's a)a lot better than replacing an expensive cell phone and b)protects buttons, the glass and the phone case itself.

I bought this case along with my Blackberry Curve and my phone still looks brand new. I've dropped it plenty of times and the phone never breaks, the case itself has hardly scratched. Usually every two weeks or so I disassemble the case and clean out all the lint thats built up (from being in my pocket.) The phone looks as good as the day I bought it, and until I bought this item I used to go through phones every 3-5 months. If you are going to buy a smartphone of any time, definitely make sure to get the Otterbox defender series!

On a side note the protective plastic that covers the keyboard does make typing a bit more difficult as it reduces the tactile feedback from the keys. You get used to it, but if it really annoys you you can just choose not to use it.

Great protection for the 8500 series. Built in screen protector. Optional keyboard protector, with track pad cutout. Protects camera lens. It does not interfere with the microphone or speaker. Great dust protection. Not easy to remove.(I happen to like that) For anyone who is rough on there phone, this is a must have and worth every penny.
