On the other hand, this case is practically IMPOSSIBLE to take off. The silicone wrapping comes off very easily, but when it's time to take off the hard shell, it feels like it is super glued to the iPad. You can't just rip it off because you might break the case, the iPad, or your fingernail. The Otterbox website does have a video on how to remove the case, but it doesn't really help. It took me a half hour to take off the shell.
The new iPad is all about the gorgeous retina display, and the built-in screen protector takes away from that. It's not completely clear and no matter how well you put it on, there will always be little bubbles underneath it. The case also adds a good amount of weight to your once feather-light iPad.
All in all, this is a really great case, but only if you plan to leave it on for a long time. :)
Did I mention that with the white Ipad it looks SHARP!
I've found out that the swirls are called "water marks" and all built in screen protectors have them. I've found many remedies on YouTube for phone cases , most were baby powder misting on the underside of the screen protector, but one youtuber suggested eyeglass cleaner. I don't have any but used nature's source by Windex to clean the underside of the screen protector. NO MORE WATER MARKS!!!! :) :) :)
The pieces that cover the iPad itself are very satisfyingly sturdy and the silicon outer shell allows for a firm grip on the iPad so that it is unlikely you will drop it. As if this case's durability were not enough, the case looks awesome: clean lines, several colors to pick from, and no obnoxious "designer" prints that will catch the eye of everyone in the room. Overall, I am impressed with the Otterbox Defender Series for the iPad. My little brother convinced me to buy this case after I could not find any that I thought were good enough. I am glad that I listened to him. It has it all except for that horrible screen protector.
