Does the OtterBox Defender diminish the sound of the Kindle Fire HD very much?

I don't think it does. There are cut outs at the speakers. It's pretty loud. I love Otterbox, I have one on both my Kindles and my iPhone.

I have not noticed any differences in the sound quality with or without the Otterbox.

Not that I can tell. The sound appears to be about the same with or without the Ottor Box.

With the openings where the speakers are, the sound isn't diminished at all. It sounds the exact same with or without the OtterBox.

My son loves the otterbox. It has openings for the speakers and therefore doesn't really diminish the sound of the Kindle much.
