I find this rubber protective skin protects my 2nd Gen iPod Touch very well against bumps and short drops.

Also, I am dropping it a lot less, because the rubber case keeps it from slipping out of my arthritic hand. Another plus is that I don't have to grip the iPod as tightly with this case on as I did without any skin.

Unlike some cases, this doesn't obscure the sides of the iPod's screen, so you can easily slide your app icons around without having to remove the case first.

The bottom of the skin is mostly open, allowing easy access to the charging and earphone ports.

I recommend this case to anyone who wants a more comfortable grip for their iPod and moderate protection against bumps and short drops. I also recommend applying a screen protector film or shield before putting this on, because it doesn't have any screen protection of its own.

The OtterBox for the iPod touch was really what I expected. A low price for ultimate protection. A nice small fitting case that can withstand short drops and offers a nice strong grip to prevent you from dropping your highly expensive iPod touch 2nd Gen. I also tested the durable case on my iPod by dropping it on its sides and edges to really prove its strong rigid edges. As I thought, not a single dent on my iPod but this test was from a height of about 6'3, my height. So if you are in a need to get a protective case for your iPod, get this stylish and durable case for only $15.99.

This skin corrects what I dislike most about my ipod touch--too slick. The skin goes on easy, fits securely, and gives good grip to a slippery ipod. I especially like how Otterbox built in raised areas for the volume and power buttons that make the controls easy to use. The skin is reinforced in the corners for drops, but thin enough that it does not interfere with my mobile FM transmitter/charger dock. The openings in the bottom do not interfere with connections. I've also used the Griffin itrip on my "skinned" ipod without problem.

My only complaint is the lack of screen protector so that's worth deducting a star. For the money, this is a great skin.
